I’m thrilled to share that my photograph, “State Road Bridge,” has been selected for the Art of Photography exhibition at Taman’Art Space Gallery in Aït Benhaddou, Morocco, November 13–15, 2026!
This is one of my most highly awarded photographs—and one of the simplest I’ve ever taken. If you look closely, you’ll see a person standing midway through the bridge. I didn’t even notice them when I captured the image, but their quiet presence makes it even more special.
What an incredible honor to have this Pennsylvania scene exhibited in Morocco!

Sometimes the greatest compliment a photograph can receive isn't an award—it's knowing that it made someone pause.

Ever get so excited about a photo location that you forget some of the most important shots?
That happened to me recently while photographing Shanks Mill and Farm in Fairfield, PA. I was so focused on creative compositions, textures, and details that I overlooked some of the fundamental images needed to tell the complete story of the location.
It inspired me to write a new blog post about the four types of images every photographer should capture—and I created a free Photography Field Worksheet to help stay organized on future shoots.

Sometimes the best new photograph is actually an old one.
While browsing my OneDrive "On This Day" memories, I stumbled across a photo I had completely forgotten about—captured years ago on a phone I no longer even own.
After a little editing and a fresh perspective, it became Mile High Nights, featuring the glow of Empower Field and the Denver skyline after dark.
It's a good reminder to revisit your photo archives every now and then. You never know what hidden treasures might be waiting to be rediscovered. This image is now available in the Bright Lights Gallery on our website and will soon be available on our Pixels site. https://bit.ly/4fMdI7f

Three photographs.
Three exhibition selections.
Three reminders that you never know where a photograph might take you.
I'm excited and honored to share that my images Cabin on a Lake, Dupont Circle, and Glowing Canopy have all recently been selected for exhibition.
These images remind me why I love photography so much. One was captured beside a quiet lake, one in the heart of Washington, D.C., and one during a peaceful evening walk along a waterfront boardwalk in Philadelphia. Three very different moments, each telling its own story
As a photographer, you spend countless hours exploring, waiting for the right light, and hoping you've captured something that resonates with others. It's incredibly rewarding when those moments connect with audiences beyond your own community.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my photography journey, visited my galleries, shared my work, and encouraged me along the way. It truly means more than you know.

Well… if I’m going to step out of my comfort zone, I might as well do it in a big way. 😊📷
I’m officially asking local farm owners if I can photograph their barns, stables, and old outbuildings for a new photography series focused on preserving a little piece of our rural heritage (and possibly aerials courtesy of my hubby Michael).
As someone who is much more comfortable behind the camera than knocking on doors, this is a big step for me — but some stories are worth being brave for.

New profile pic for Hilltop Photography. The inspiration - yes, AI-assisted is the original photo by Emily Hancock taken in Colorado. I loved the original picture, but for the new profile photo, I wanted to bring the photographer (me) into the story too. Sometimes the moments behind the camera are just as meaningful as the view in front of it. 📷 So thank you Emily for the inspiration!
