i will always ask for a few extra minutes for bridal portraits if i can get them -wedding days move quickly and this is often the one moment where everything slows down, and bonus points if we can head outside for them

one of my favorite parts of multicultural weddings is the reception, when different traditions, families, and friend groups all end up sharing the same dance floor. that's usually when i get some of my favorite photos

wrapping up a few galleries this week because Omar and i are headed to Finland! looking forward to a change of scenery before jumping back into the rest of summer wedding season, and of course i will be photographing our trip along the way

i always include a few black and white images in every gallery. sometimes removing the color helps you notice the feeling of a moment a little more clearly, and those are often the photos I find people come back to the most years later

one of my favorite things about photographing styled shoots is getting to slow down and really appreciate the details. the florals, the textures, the way everything works together. i've always thought flowers do more to define the look and feel of a wedding than almost anything else

a little BTS update — you may notice a few changes around here ✨ I’m officially going back to my original company name:

while I’m so grateful for everything Samia’s Studios brought into my life, the name no longer feels aligned with the long-term vision I have for this brand. Moving forward, I’ll be focusing on photography only — delving into more film photography alongside digital, and making space for more intentional, aligned projects as I enter my 11th year of business.

along with this… a new website is in the works and I can’t wait to share it super soon 😊
