As we close in on the start of the Maryland Renaissance Festival there's one quick question I want to address:
"Is it okay to ask you to take my picture?"
Well, first: I can only speak for me. I can't promise every photographer at Faire feels the same way.
But for me? Absolutely.
There are just a few things to keep in mind:
• I'm here to have fun, too.
I'm here with friends, enjoying the Faire, the food, watching shows, and having a wonderful time. So if you stop me, it's for a few minutes, not a full portrait session. 😉 (If you'd like a full portrait session, we can book that)
• Please be nice about it.
This one shouldn't need to be said, but apparently it does. 😂 I'm happy to take your picture. You don't need to convince me that you're worthy of being photographed.
• Be ready to take some direction.
I'll probably tell you where to stand, where to look, what to do with your hands, or how to adjust your pose. I promise I'm not being bossy! I want you to get a great photograph, and that usually means providing a little direction.
I LOVE photographing people in Faire garb. You've spent all this time putting together your look, you should have some great pictures of it.
So if you see me wandering around with my camera and you want a portrait...
Please, come say hi. Let's get a cool picture of you in your awesome garb!
