If you’ve been feeling like this season is more slow burn than spark, you’re not missing anything.

Some years begin with fireworks. Others take their time.

There’s no “right” pace.

And honestly, some of the most meaningful moments come without drama or spotlight.

They show up in the little things:

Sticking with a tiny habit. A quiet cry that clears the air. Walking the long way home.

If you’ve felt unsure, unmotivated, or just plain tired - you’re still doing great.

The year is still yours, however it unfolds.

Somewhere in the middle of picking straw out of my hair and hanging out with an adorable baby donkey, I realized something.

This rhythm - quiet, earthy, not forced - felt exactly like what I try to create in my photography too. A groundedness that connects the soul to the energy of the earth.

Not staged, not polished. Just a container for presence. For breathing room.

For moments that land softly and stay awhile.

Maybe that’s what we’re all craving more of. I know I am.
Something to ground us when the rest of life feels like scroll-and-repeat. When the rest of life feels like creating superficial connections that are otherwise not feeding the human need to relate to someone else.

Curious: what’s been your version of that lately?

The thing that calms you down without asking for much?

I’d genuinely love to hear.

This time of year has such a stretched-out, in-between feeling to it.

The noise of December is behind us, but things haven’t quite clicked into motion yet.
The light is soft. The days are quiet.

It all feels like a long exhale.

If you're still easing your way into things, you’re not alone.

Slow counts. Small counts. Just showing up counts.

How’re you holding up this week?

Not the polished version - the real one.

What’s one small thing that’s helped you feel steady lately?
Whatever it is, I’m rooting for you.

Seize the day, capture the moment. 📸

There's a certain adrenaline rush in freezing a fragment of time, a fleeting expression or the innocence of a giggle, encapsulated forever. Nothing is as precious as memories of your children, your family, your life during each unique season. Remember, as time passes, human memory fades.

Don't wait for the 'perfect' moment; the joy is in the journey and the everyday magic that surrounds you. Let's immortalize these precious minutes, these mundane marvels. Trust me when I say - you'll be so grateful you did.

So, I'm curious, what’s the latest fragment of time, sweet (or sour!) expression or unique candid capture you took?

In the quiet of their home, we let the moments unfold exactly as they were—no posing, no prompts, just a mother and her 7-day-old baby boy discovering each other. Every stretch, yawn, and sleepy smile was entirely his; every touch, kiss, and gaze was entirely hers. I didn’t say a single word during this session—my only job was to watch, feel, and quietly witness their connection. These are the kinds of newborn images you can’t script or recreate, only receive. Honest, unplanned, and perfectly imperfect…just like the very first days of motherhood.

Would you be willing to go along with an extremely impromptu session with a 7-day old? To be honest, I don’t know if I would have welcomed this as gracefully as my very good friend did.

Wrapped in light, waiting on a little dream. ✨

Did you get maternity photos taken while you were pregnant? If so, what was the vibe? If not, why not? If you could turn back time, would you opt to get them done now?

Cherishing Holiday Wonders – Capturing the bittersweet transition from childlike wonders of Santa to the mature understanding of the season’s spirit. Parents, how do you navigate this delicate revelation while preserving the magic of Christmas?

We’re dealing with this now and it’s such a balance beam of how exactly to phrase things and what even is the messaging we want to give.

I also just want to keep them little for as long as possible and am not in the camp of just “ripping the bandaid off” personally. So yeah, I’m definitely interested to hear how other parents are navigating this time or how you did navigate it when the time came.
