She sure is a seductress, that Lady Aurora.

This is a single 6 1/2 minute clip in real-time. The motion is as seen with they eye. Not AI (though it's sad I have to say that now).

If you've ever dreamed of being out there with us under the magical night skies of Alaska, or just need another fix, the time to plan is now.

March 2027 will be our final season guiding nightly Aurora tours. While it's been an amazing blessing and experience to share this joy with so many of you over the years, we can't say the nearly 15 years of all nighters hasn't taken it's toll.

The Aurora Chasers likely won't be going away, but we will be pivoting and restructuring our operations and won't be offering the single night tours after this winter.

We hope we get a chance to see some of you again between now and then and to meet some of you who've not yet made it up here but always dreamed of doing so.

For now, in hopes of enticing you to make the plans, I'll leave you with this image from March 21st, 2026.

Last night (20th-21st of February)
Starry nights close to Fairbanks have been wonderful.
No need to drive far for clear skies, just far enough to escape the light pollution and the crowds.
Last night, 90% of the conditions were perfect… except one thing: Bz was on strike.
Around 8:30 PM it shifted north and stayed there most of the night.
We still caught some faint auroras, and with 9 p/cm³ density and 500 km/sec solar wind speed under clear skies, I really hoped Bz would dip south at least for a bit.
Tonight we’re preparing for a longer drive, with another snowstorm in the forecast, 12–18 inches over the next 2–3 days.
Stay safe out there, friends.

Here’s one from beautiful Monday night (February 16th–17th). ✨
I’m sure a lot of people saw that perfect, starry sky filled with aurora.
Green, purple, magenta, even hints of red dancing overhead…
We drove northeast to outrun the clouds, but luckily they moved slower than predicted and so many folks had the chance to see the aurora right from Fairbanks, too.
The sky opened wide, and for a little while, it felt like Alaska was glowing just for all of us. 💚✨

Catching up on the last few days, this one is from last night
18th-19th of February ✨
It started as a nice, starry night with a little ice fog drifting through.
We drove about two hours south of Fairbanks, chasing clearer skies and hopeful forecasts.
For a while, the stars were out and the sky felt open and calm.
But around 1:30 AM, the clouds slowly rolled in and tucked the sky away for the night.
The journey is always worth it… unless conditions become unsafe.
Our clients’ safety always comes first, and on the rare occasion that driving would put anyone at risk, we cancel.
Ronn is an extraordinary driver, with over 20 years of experience navigating through winter storms and even before Alaska, he was driving in Idaho snowy conditions.
We all trust his judgment completely and deeply appreciate the care he takes when it comes to safety.
Because chasing the sky should never mean risking the people under it.

Another tour, another starry night. ✨
13th -14th of February North of Fairbanks - Alaska
It felt like the calm before the storm, almost as if Lady Aurora herself was snoozing a little.
But the truth is… the science spoke.
The Bz was stuck north most of the night, keeping things quiet.
We did catch a small window, a little dip south in the Bz and a spike in density, just enough to give us a soft green glow, a few portraits, and some beautiful memories.
Not every night is wild swirls and explosions of color.
But any aurora is a good night. 💚
Grateful for the stars, the patience, and the people who chase the sky with us.

Last night (February 11th–12th) ✨
This one took a little extra effort.
We drove through a snowstorm toward what we hoped would be clear, starry skies. As we were leaving Fairbanks in blowing snow, the Bz shifted south and density spiked and Ronn had to drive as safely (and legally 😉) as possible to get us south of the storm and into clearer skies.
And it paid off.
As soon as we arrived at our spot, a green band began to rise, slowly stretching across the sky. It gave us beautiful, rich green with a hint of red dancing above it.
Not wild, crazy swirls, but intense, smooth, and powerful.
And then, just like someone waved a magic wand…
the Bz shifted back north, the clouds rolled in, and the sky closed right as we were leaving.
What a perfectly timed night. 💚✨
