There is something special about the mornings on the river in the summer. The warm light piercing the trees and scattering itself upon the cold earth. The way the river valley smells as the air stirs and everything awakens. First, the sound of the diligently wandering water. Next, the birds. Then, suddenly, so much more.
I try to not add to that noise. I do my best to just be in that moment. I'm really trying to be present more and more each day. Little moments at a time. Certainly the start and end of each day. I feel better when it happens. Feel grounded. I'm not great at it, but I'm getting better. Just need to keep at it each day, like so much else in life.
Here's to early morning beauty and being present.
*truth disclaimer: I typed this out while at gymnastics. And now I'm putting down my phone and going back to watching. Screw the need for engagement the next 30 mins so that more people see this.*
