And like that, the velvet is coming off. I can’t believe that elk bugles, yellow aspens, and snow capped peaks are so close after what has felt like 1.5 years of summer around here 🍂

Summer-so-far photo dump. This summer so far has been about dogs and healing. I am back to having 3 Danes again in life -as we adopted a new best boi a month ago from Eapl, Mr Dudley Do-Right, who is simply the best being to ever exist and is already such a great adventure pal. I’ve been gradually returning to running after peroneal tendon repair surgery in April…and many months of injury prior and being grounded. I’m feeling my endurance and strength inching toward normal and it feels so good. Other than that it’s just been hanging out outside with dogs, wildflowers, too much heat and smoke, wishing it would rain, bears committing crimes constantly at our house, wishing I wasn’t working so much, being grateful I can move again, and trying very recently to find time for photography again. Hope your summer is being good to you ✌️

Finally our first actual snowstorm of the season. Our soggy neighbors stopped by. Did you know that the fur in a deers ears is super curly and super cute? Neither did I. Now we both know! ❄️

I think this photo sums up how bad this winter is in coloRADo. February 24. Raining on I70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel at 11,112’. 64 degrees and a Red flag warning at home at 8000’. Zero snow. It’s grim, folks.
