I wanted to edit this one a little differently and share in black and white. This is the Cone Nebula and the Christmas Tree Cluster, only 2,300 light years away. I really love being able to photograph the stars from any location. Thanks to the proper filters it doesn’t matter too much that I have street light all around or in a dark site in the mountains. Only important thing I need is clear night skies and there is plenty of that in California. :)

It’s really amazing what proper astro photography gear and knowledge can do. This is the Flaming Star Nebula as seen from Everett WA. Shot this last week and just got to editing. Long dark nights allowed 9 hours of photos. If you swipe you’ll see last years... doesn’t even look like the same nebula.
