Going back to 2019 here. I remember coming away from this trip to Scotland thinking that I had learned a lot from Simon and Tom but hadn't gotten many shots I was happy with. Well, 5 years later and I am going back over them with a better understanding of how to process photos and I'm much happier. For the life of me I cannot remember where exactly this shot was taken but I know it was somewhere in Wester Ross :)

So while I was behind the museum trying to make a shot happen I turn around and this is going on behind me.

Just returned from a trip to Zion/Bryce/Grand Canyon. This was the last sunrise there and it worked out in my favor after a couple of days of no clouds. It was cold out there in the mornings and evenings but generally pretty nice during the day.

This whole area of the United States is just incredibly beautiful. Let's hope it stays that way. The national parks are suffering from a massive spike in popularity since the pandemic and are chronically underfunded, leaving the park service with few options to combat the problems associated with all those visitors.

I know I've been posting more than my usual once a quarter, don't worry I will probably remember Facebook is evil soon. Here's yet ANOTHER shot from GSMNP. This is the Lynn Camp Prong up at the end of upper Tremont Road..

I call this one Withywindle. Bonus points if you get that reference. No, no willows in sight I know.

The Road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can

Another from this fall trip to the Smokies. This is the Appalachian Trail as it leaves Newfound Gap on the way to Katahdin. It was 57 degrees but the wind was absolutely howling up the mountains and bringing plenty of fog with it.

Far over the Misty Mountains cold...

Today was the last day of the fall photography workshop at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. This fall I was an instructor for the first time. I fully admit I was nervous but everything went better than expected (in no small part due to my super supportive and helpful colleagues). After we left Cades Cove, had lunch in Townsend and I took a short nap I headed back out to shoot. Since Kuwohi (formerly Clingman's Dome) was covered in clouds so I stopped halfway up to shoot the fog running up and down the mountain sides.

These mystical, moody scenes are my absolute favorite conditions to photograph. I can just picture Thorin, Bilbo, and company trudging through these foggy woodlands on their way to the lonely mountain.

Hey folks. I have some completed prints for sale if you are interested. These were made for my photography club's exhibition last month and I don't really have room for them. The photos below are included.

The photo of Great American Ballpark is on metal and is 16x24. The bridge photo is 16x 20 on metal and the Great American Tower picture is 16x20 on acrylic. All three were printed locally at Robin Imaging and look amazing (if I do say so myself).

$225 each. I'll deliver them if you are local. If you need them shipped I'll have to let you know what shipping charges will be.

If you are interested in other prints from my galleries on www.richringsphotography.com let me know and we can talk pricing etc.
