Emily + her girls! in studio, during my motherhood sessions this past feb.
emily came in with the goal of capturing her motherhood in a comfortable, honest way. she wanted it to feel intimate + cozy. so we put together a really light style board, and brought options so the girls could choose their favorite look the day of. i included the style board in the last frame so you can see how we had a vision along with the end results!

they had their lovies for comfort, snuggled mom + ultimately played!! so much beauty shows up when you keep the goal or “why” you’re getting photos done forefront— the less pressure on perfection, the more meaningful moments will unfold. 🤍

overjoyed to share i’ve been named on the Ones to Watch list from for their Spring ‘24 issue!✨🥹 one of the top 20 photogs to be changing the family photography game. a little surreal to be here, especially amongst so many other talented creatives!

two years ago i closed my books, i stopped taking clients and i had what you may call a little “crisis” over what i wanted to do with my time. i wasn’t feeling that same spark with photography, except when i was documenting my littles. then it clicked & my perspective shifted with clarity. i realized it wasn’t photography i was burnt out with, it was the niche i was in. i wanted to be documenting motherhood & families. i wanted to show others the beauty in these golden years & freeze it for their future selves.

i had no idea that shift would bring out my best self & my best art. much less did i ever, everrrr dream about receiving an award for it! i set out to make mothers feel seen, bottle up childhoods & make art for families. in the midst of that i found & loved every bit of the revolutionizing family photography they emphasized. being named on their Ones To Watch list is such an honor & feels like a dream. your creativity is magnetic & i applaud you for this community you’ve created, it is so special ✨

sessions in the studio for MOTHERHOOD were released today. it brought me back to this summer studio session with Max, Bear & Indy. everything here was just effortlessly cool— their style + relaxed mood + Bear’s natural gift in front of the camera (got it from his momma), all of it!

it feels like as moms we can find ourselves filling our camera rolls with photos of our babies, but truth is those photos with us in them is what they’ll want when they’re older. document your motherhood & their childhood.✨

colorless feels so nostalgic to me on this session, it compliments Eli’s dimples & Savannah’s curls so well!

watching their sibling bond unfold was so sweet, i immediately knew these were going to be a set of favorites of mine. & favorites for their momma too i’m sure!

& they ended our time together by giving me big hugs- what’s not to love about these sweeties!

on this land they have built a home, brought babies into the world & most importantly loved always. the Martin family always shows up present + focused on each other. & for that, their gallery always speaks to the immense love they have for one another.

i watched as Levi picked his momma flowers from their field,
as Cody gently held baby Lila’s little toes,
how Ezra gave bear hugs to mom
& Levi gripped dads pinky or leg at times for comfort.
Lila was showered in kisses by everyone as they especially focused on the sweetness she has newly brought into the family dynamic.

these are dear friends of mine & beyond all i could say in that aspect, they also constantly show up for me as some of the best clients (full of trust, support + love!). ✨🫶🏽

following some in-home moments we hopped spots to one of my favorite locations. i knew i wanted to shoot in this field at golden hour, in hopes for a sunset + gold drenched light— & boy did it deliver!
we let the kids play under the blanket, pick the late june flowers + search for animals high up on dads shoulders. i love letting the kids lead at times, it takes pressure off mom + dad & really allows for magic to unfold. my most favorite kind of sessions ☁️✨
