International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27) In 2016, I visited my hometown of Lublin, Poland and visited the State Museum in Majdanek for the first time.

The mausoleum in these photos is protecting the ashes of the victims of the Majdanek concentration camp and is shaped like an urn, where the ashes of the prisoners were placed.

The dome bears the inscription "Our fate is a warning to you," which comes from the poem "Requiem" by Franciszek Fenikowski.
