A destination wedding in Mexico for Chelsea & Riley. Genuinely don’t even know where to begin talking about these two and their wedding. I think the fact that they had 50 people fly out for their destination wedding outside of the country to celebrate them says plenty. A theme in the speeches was how Chelsea draws people in and what a fierce friend she is. How she can connect with people anywhere and make people feel immediately loved. Even in my small experience and short time knowing her it couldn’t feel more true. Both Chelsea and Riley felt like immediate friends when meeting them and it’s been the most special experience getting to photograph their wedding. Destination weddings are incredible. It immediately feels intimate, everyone gets to be on vacation together, and it’s so fun to constantly be running into all the wedding guests around the resort in the days following. When do you get to vacation with all your favorite people and see them interacting together and becoming friends? It could not have been a more stunning venue, impeccable taste with decor and the best group to celebrate. I will forever be bewildered that this is my job and I get to photograph the best people and couples. Love these two forever and can’t wait to share more moments from their incredible day.

Another trip around the sun. I love that my birthday coincides with my decision to take my business full time after so many years of debating back and forth. I’m nostalgic to a fault and any kind of anniversary of a birth, big life decision or an event has me reminiscing and reflecting. This time last year I was recovering from surgery from bringing Indie into this world. Completing our family. Making it through the newborn phase for the last time while juggling a business. We did it. Two years ago I finally gathered the courage to go full time photography. It was terrifying as someone who really values smart financial decisions and stability. This felt like a big leap into uncertainty but it’s been the best ride. 13 years ago around this time I shot my first wedding. I told her no multiple times because I was too nervous. Knowing even then how precious wedding photos were and I did not want to mess that up for someone. I edited the entire thing on PicMonkey, included some sepia, some black and white photos with the flowers in color. I was so proud of my work and she was thrilled. 15 years ago this time getting ready to graduate highschool (aging myself here) and was taking my friends senior photos. Having zero idea what I wanted to do with my life. Probably something in the medical field. 19 years ago this time I got my first camera. I made my sister pose in front of some hot pink sheets and I loved to include song lyrics in

Chelsea and Riley. Honestly where do I begin? We decided to just explore around a lake and pull over when we saw a good spot and we had so much fun. Chelsea is one of those people you feel like old friends with the minute you meet her. These two are so cute together and so much fun to work with. I am COUNTING down to their incredible wedding.
