Every year, this sweet family makes the trip from West Virginia to Hershey to celebrate their daughter's birthday. 🎂🍫 This year, turning FIVE deserved something extra special, so mom found me on Google and asked me to capture family photos at the beautiful Hotel Hershey as part of their tradition.

When we met, the sky was completely covered in clouds. Normally people worry when they don't see sunshine, but honestly? This is exactly why photographers love overcast days. The soft light was absolutely gorgeous, the sky had so much depth, and their outfits popped beautifully against the gardens and historic grounds.

We spent the evening exploring, playing, laughing, and letting a five-year-old just be five. Those are always my favorite sessions...the ones that feel more like making memories than taking pictures.

As we wrapped up, mom smiled and said, "Thank you. Those were the easiest family photos we've ever taken."

That might be one of the best compliments I can receive. My goal is never just beautiful photos. It's making the entire experience feel easy, relaxed, and actually enjoyable for your family.

Happy 5th birthday, sweet girl! 💕 I hope these photos always remind you of your annual trip to the Sweetest Place on Earth, and I can't wait to see you all again next year to celebrate another trip around the sun.

Some sessions are worth waiting for. 🌻

Addie's senior session has been in the works since last year because there was one thing she knew she wanted: sunflowers.

We've chased blooms across the season, missed fields because they were planted early, passed on one farm with a rental fee that just wasn't worth it, rescheduled after severe thunderstorms... and last night, it all finally came together.

Golden sunshine. Endless sunflowers. And somehow, even a few adorable kittens decided to join us.

Sometimes the best sessions take a little extra patience, and this one was absolutely worth the wait.

Most parents stress about how their kids are going to behave in the studio. So I want to tell you three things:

Your kid is probably not the worst-behaved kid who’s ever been in my studio.
Unless your kid is that specific kid. Then… welcome back. 😂
Nothing your kid does is going to phase me.

I have three kids of my own and I’ve photographed hundreds more. Shy kids, wild kids, kids who want absolutely nothing to do with me, kids who suddenly forget how to smile like a normal human the second a camera comes out. I’ve seen it.

They’re going through a lot, too.
They’re in a new place, with a new person, being asked to do weird things for photos, AND their entire world has just been flip-turned upside down by this tiny new person who came home with you. They might act a little differently than you’re used to. That’s okay.

With all of that said, I promise I’ll do everything in my power and pull every trick out of my sleeve to capture beautiful photos of your kids with their new sibling.

Even if that means bribery.

Even if that means a little Photoshop magic.

Even if we have to work a little harder for it.

And sometimes? We get THIS. 🥹

I’m heading back to this gorgeous property for YEAR FOUR, and we’ll be using their stunning greenhouse and surrounding grounds to create holiday photos that feel festive, timeless, and beautiful enough to keep framed long after Christmas is over.

✨ Two dates will be available:

November 28

And before you panic about November 15 being before Thanksgiving… Thanksgiving is LATE this year! 😂 Your gallery will be back with plenty of time to order your holiday cards, print photos, and actually get them in the mail without a December scramble.

August is completely full. ❎

Here's what's left for outdoor golden hour sessions:

September: 6 dates left (3rd, 11th, 13th, 17th, 25th, 26th)
October: 3 dates left (8th, 22nd, 30th)
November: 3 dates left (4th, 6th, 18th)

‼ This is just for outdoor sessions, not newborn or cake smash. I do have limited daytime availability for newborns & cake smashes for August-December.
