Male Pileated Woodpecker. I was so happy to see my buddy again. After a neighbor beside me and one behind me took down dead trees and I wasn't sure he'd be back. I hadn't seen him for about 10 months. I could hear an adult and a juvenile recently but I couldn't see them. He showed up the other day and checked out his old stumps and had some Autumn Olive berries. Welcome back my friend! In southern Pennsylvania.

I watched this Northern Flicker nest for about a month. This is the male approaching to feed his chicks. This chick was getting very impatient and was the largest of the four that were in the nest. I watched all four of the chicks fledged the next day. It was an awesome experience.
