When the most natural wedding day feels like traveling to Colorado with your favorite people and getting married on the side of a mountain, my simple advice is:

Follow your gut.

One of the things I loved most about this day was that they had a true balance of time with friends and family, and time just the two of them.

We started at the cabin with some candid getting ready photos. They were surrounded by their people, helping them get ready for their day, and zipping up their dresses before sending them off to their hike!

The hike was extra special because we had the trail almost entirely to ourselves.

It was a lovely way to prioritize time in the mountains. Just the two of them, doing what they love.

The early evening was spent wandering dirt trails, sitting by the stream, and soaking in the Rocky Mountain views.

Afterward, we met back up with family at Lily Lake Picnic area for a ceremony + picnic and watched the sun go down.

You can really have it all. And Rocky Mountain National Park is such an ideal place to make that happen.

Dogs, scooters, and a sweet little secluded wedding venue in the mountains…

What more could you ask for?

Thinking back on this intimate wedding day at Juniper Mountain House just a year ago.

One of my favorite things about this venue is the forest ceremony site. It feels cozy, grounding, and provides a little shade from that Colorado sun.

Add in a couple who wanted to celebrate with their dogs, and it was pretty much the perfect mountain wedding day.

Can’t wait to make it back here again! Especially now that the new treehouses are built!

Reminder that wedding days don’t have to be fast paced.

As a photographer I help couples build a spacious timeline so we’re just not getting the best lighting. We’re creating space for you to simply be together, too.

You will never regret savoring every moment of your wedding day.

And don’t get me wrong, days like these tend to have that “time flies when you’re having” fun effect.

But that’s exactly why it’s important to pause as much as possible. Take in the view. Hold your person. Hug your people. Be where your feet are.

And for goodness sake, enjoy the dang food.

Engagement photos… but make them tell a story.

One of the easiest ways to get candid, natural photos is to plan your engagement session around something you actually love doing together.

Like horseback riding through the snowy mountains… in May. :)

The best photos happen when you’re not just staring at the camera, but sharing in a fun experience together.

And honestly, the same goes for your wedding.

The more your day is built around things that feel like you, the more meaningful and authentic your photos will be.

PSA: Rocky Mountain National Park wedding permits are officially available through June 2027!

May-September dates are often the first to disappear, so if you’re looking to get married in the national park, now is a great time to start thinking about dates and locations.

Need help figuring out where to start?

Well, that’s what I’m here for. :)

Send me a message and we can start tossing around some ideas for locations, timing, photography, and all the fun stuff!

Trail Ridge Road is open!!

Who’s ready to create some magic above treeline?! Without having to hike for it. 😏

This is your reminder that some of the most incredible mountain views in Colorado are just a scenic drive away!

When you think you’re just taking cute couple couples photos in Rocky Mountain National Park with your partner.. and then suddenly, you’re taking them with your fiancé instead.

What started as a casual couples session during their visit to RMNP turned into the sweetest surprise proposal in the middle of the mountains!!

And as if the day couldn’t get any better, two moose showed up shortly after!

It’s that Rocky Mountain magic at it again.

For part two of the sweet vow renewal at Lily Lake, we went to…..

Ed’s Cantina!

A local Estes Park restaurant (that actually caters weddings and hosts private events).

These two slipped into their usual booth and we captured some photos while the kids colored and the fajitas cooked.

I was so excited when they suggested possibly taking some photos at Ed’s after their vow renewal.

In case you didn’t know, it’s always a HECK YES from me if you want to incorporate unique ideas and activities into your wedding or session.
