After photographing the first Free Spirit rose, I couldn’t help but look at it again — this time from a different angle.

There’s something about seeing a flower from a new perspective that changes how you feel about it. The light was softer. The petals more open. I misted it gently to keep it fresh, and the tiny water droplets caught the light in the most delicate way.

This version felt quieter. More reflective.
Like a breath after the first kiss.

I photographed it up close, focusing on the curve of the petals and how the drops settled like tiny pearls along the folds. It became less about the flower itself — and more about the feeling it gave.

This photo is a tribute to tenderness, attention, and how love can look different from every angle — always familiar, always worth noticing again.

I hope it brings that same feeling of softness and presence into your space.

This was my first year photographing the aspen trees in Telluride, Ridgeway, and Crested Butte, Colorado. I was blessed to spend six days camping in the mountain in the back of my truck. Two of those days were with my youngest son. What an awesome experience it was.

I highly recommend viewing the images on a big computer monitor. The details are mind-blowing. The camera I use puts out a massive file resolution.

Dream Lake, Colorado

My son and I decided to go on a hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park during his school break. This was going to be his first hike in the snowy mountains and hiking back to the car in the dark. I was very proud of him for how well he handled everything. We hiked to Bear Lake, Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald Lake. We decided the best lake for a photograph was back at Dream Lake. We went back and found our composition. After finding our composition it was time to wait for 2 hours for the sunset. For an 11 year old, I'm sure 2 hours seemed like an eternity. Especially in the cold.

Personally, my favorite part of this trip was his comment to me "it is really quiet and peaceful up here." His comment melted my heart and at that moment I knew as a father I was doing something right.
