Blizzard aftermath on Parker River Plum Island beaches was amazing. There were lobster pots and debris all along the beach including washed up sea clams up near the high tide mark.

The light in the early morning, plays with the snow on the boardwalk, making it look like stairs...when of course it is just a flat boardwalk .

Like priceless little jewels that have been tossed into the air and landed on the blades of grass in a field, my eyes dart around as I see the sun shining on them like shimmering diamonds!

Today was interesting...got to see not only a indigo bunting but also a Lazuli Bunting...the photos were from clear across a field but just knowing I was able to capture a photo of it was amazing. They are found in California!! Lots of house wrens, gold finch, cow birds, juncos and a very watchful Red Shouldered Hawk.. The sun was warm on my back, the wind was light so it made it a pleasant 2 hours of waiting to see it! First two photos show...upper left is the indigo and lower right is the Lazuli.

A sleepy red morph screech owl warms in the morning sun...Had a two-for kind of day..a barred and a screech yesterday morning!

So many little brown birds...sparrows are quick and sometimes hard to ID, but this little Tree Sparrow gave me a good look. Literally!

Winter Goldfinches, though not as vibrant as with their summer plumage are still beautiful and I love their little squeaky song. These two enjoy the seeded pods on an early frosty morning.

Morning breakfast for a male house finch. I love the backlit bird and the flowers that are going to seed that are highlighted by the sun as it rises over the pine trees in the distance.
