The 2025 Heatwave Rap Cypher was about showcasing what Vermont hip-hop looks and feels like. 🎤☀️

Some of the best rappers in Vermont came together to spit verses, but just as important were all the people who pulled up to support their friends and favorite artists.

That’s why we built the visuals around the whole environment — 360° shots from Medo Lens, close-ups of the performances, crowd reactions, and all the moments happening around the cypher.

Shoutout to Dave’s Hot Chicken for sponsoring the event and helping us bring everyone together.

From setup to final edit 🎥🎧

We followed the full process behind filming a Jamaal Vibes DJ set overlooking Lake Champlain—from building out the camera setup on location to bringing everything into the timeline the next day.

Sometimes the best lighting setup is the one you don't notice. 🎥🔥❄️

For this winter shoot with Jamaal Vibes, the goal was to create a campfire conversation in the middle of the snowy woods while making everything feel naturally lit.

Since the fire alone wasn't enough for camera, we used a warm orange-gelled LED to recreate the campfire glow and a blue backlight to mimic moonlight and add some separation and depth.

The result? A cinematic nighttime scene that still feels like you're just sitting around the fire.

Color grading is all about the layers. 🎨🎥 Take a look at how we color graded our latest cypher NYC Queensbridge Cypher!

Starting with the LOG → converting to Rec.709 → making corrections → building the final grade → then adding halation, bloom, and film grain to bring the image together.

This shows the full progression and how each step adds a little more character to the final look.

Behind the scenes of our latest Kicking With Kachi interview 🎥

For this shoot, we kept things clean and effective with a three-camera setup: one wide angle and individual close-ups on NoahFittt and Kachi.

We paired that with DJI wireless mics, backup shotgun audio, two LED lights, and live audio monitoring to make sure everything stayed sharp throughout the hour-long conversation.

This is what goes into creating a smooth interview before the final video ever hits your screen.
