Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop and appreciate how far I've come with photography. ❤️📸

Over the years, I've had my images featured on TV6, shared by other pages and organizations, mentioned by The Daily Press, and I've even had some of my photographs win cash prizes in contests.

This year, I entered the U.P. State Fair's professional photography division and came home with two 1st places, a 3rd place, and GRAND CHAMPION. 🏆

The funny thing is, I don't always see my own work the way other people do. There are so many photos I don't post because I second-guess them. Will people like this? Is it really as good as I think it is? Could I have done something differently? Sometimes, the images I'm least confident about end up being the ones people love and share the most. 😂

I think photographers can be their own worst critics. There's always something to learn and improve, but sometimes we need to stop picking apart what we could have done better and just appreciate how far we've come.

I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who follows, shares, likes, comments, books sessions, and supports Clairmont Photography. You may not realize it, but you're a huge part of why I keep picking up that camera.

I'm definitely not done learning yet. 📸❤️

I’m looking for 1 or 2 families to help bring my Christmas minis to life this year! 🎅

This will be a two part Christmas experience and I’m looking for a couple of families who would love to be part of bringing my vision to life and helping me showcase what I have planned.

This is a model call at a discounted model rate, not a free session. In exchange, I’ll be looking for families who are genuinely excited about the experience and comfortable allowing me to use the finished images for future advertising.

A few things I’m looking for:

🎄 1–2 families
🎄 Coordinating outfits: I will have a say in the final outfit choices, as styling is an important part of bringing my vision together
🎄 Comfortable following prompts
🎄 Willing to allow me to use the images for future advertising
🎄 Families who are ready to have fun and enjoy the experience!

🦋Monarchs Are Gathering at the Peninsula Point Lighthouse 🦋

Last night, the first few hundred monarchs began roosting at Peninsula Point Lighthouse in Stonington, one of the most important stopping points for monarchs making their incredible journey south.

We went back early this morning and not only did we get to see the monarchs, but we were lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunrise over the water along the way. 🌅

What made the morning even more special was getting to watch the people who dedicate their time to helping us understand and protect these incredible little travelers.

Opal Hoffman has volunteered countless hours to the monarch project, catching, tagging and documenting butterflies, checking them for the OE parasite, helping count them, and keeping the community updated as migration progresses.

I was able to photograph her carefully catching and tagging a monarch, and I even got to watch a young girl experience the excitement of catching one herself. 🥹🦋

If you've never experienced the monarch migration at Peninsula Point, put it on your list. You truly don't have to travel far to witness something amazing.

To everyone who gives their time to monitor, tag, educate and protect these butterflies, thank you. ❤️🦋

Proof that sometimes the best photos happen when you completely abandon the idea of taking a “serious” photo. 😂

Two ghosts. One sunflower field. Zero dignity. 👻🌻

There were questionable poses, uncontrollable giggles, and absolutely no reason for this to be as much fun as it was.

Honestly? I hope we never outgrow being this weird.

Spooky season is creeping in… and I think they're ready. 🎃
