"Life and Times in a Bears World" (Intimate Moment)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you these intimate images of Tasha nursing her 3 precious cubs.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while; we are trying to remodel a house we just bought so we can get moved in by next month and its taking us 12 to 14 hour days working on it.

Tasha's cub's were begging her to nurse so she sat down at the base of the safety tree and nursed them all 3. The 2 bigger cubs worked on and nursed the top and middle teats and the smaller female worked on the bottom two teats which don't have as much milk. When the two bigger cubs got done and walked off Tasha got up and the female quickly suckled the top 4 teats to see if there was any milk left. I so love watching and capturing special intimate moments like this and then sharing them with all my friends and followers.

"Life and Times in a Bears World" (A Touching Moment)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you these sweet images of Mini C and her larger male cub Big Max sharing a touching moment together with a kiss. This was actually the start of him begging to lick into his moms mouth and she finally let him. He licked in Mini's mouth off and on for over 15 min. I will post images of that and some video when I get them edited so enjoy these for now.

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you these sweet images of Tasha and her 3 cubs. Tasha and her cubs were standing at their safety tree and were very curious watching me watching and photographing them. I love the capture of Tasha peaking around the tree, its like she is saying to her cubs what you looking at kids.

"Life and Times in a Bears World" (On Very Hot Day, They Were Panting Away)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you two of Mini C's 4 cubs The runt Mini Me and her big brother Max. It was a very hot day in the mid 90's, heat index way over 100 and Mini C and her 4 cubs were seeking the shade of a safety tree trying to cope with the heat.

These 2 cubs were having a hard time dealing with the heat, they were panting away and trying to comfort each other trying to cool off. Black bears lack sweat glands across their bodies and have thick, insulating fur, panting is one of their primary methods to dissipate excess body heat through evaporation.

I'm sure many of our followers didn't know we use to Drag Race, its been 14 years since we had our cars out and down the track. We bought a house in the mountains that needs remolding, so we are putting our 2- Z cars up for sale.

I picked up a camera and started learning photography with the help of some good friends and photographers and headed to the woods to get away from it all and be with nature. Here is a link with information and photos of our Z cars we have for sale.

"Life and Times in a Bears World" (A Persistent Cub)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you Mini C and one of her persistent cubs begging her to lick her saliva. It was a very hot day in the mid 90's, heat index way over 100 and Mini C and her 4 cubs were seeking the shade of a safety tree trying to cope with the heat.

One of her cubs practically begged her to lick the saliva out of her mouth. I witnessed it going on for over 10 min and even another sibling joined in also. I have seen this behavior before as cubs will lick into and smell their mom's mouth to see what she has been feeding on so they can learn what to eat also.

But this behavior was different as I think they were liking mom's salvia to help wet their mouths, throats or quinch their thirst temporarily until mom took them to their water source. I'm always learning something new with bear behavior in Life and Times Out in a Bears World.

"Life and Times in a Bears World" (Photo of the Day)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you this sweet capture of 2 siblings swapping saliva while sitting in the V of a safety tree during the middle of a very hot day.

Yesterday the temperature was in the mid 90's and the heat index well over a 100. What bears I found were very hot and trying their best to stay cool in the shade of the trees and near their water source. One can imagine how hot they get carrying that big thick black fur coat around all the time. Black bears do not have sweat glands; they pant like dogs to release internal body heat.

This was a first for me watching these 2 cubs swap each other's saliva, I guess they were trying to keep each other's mouths and throats wet. On this day I witnessed different cubs do this with each other and a mom let her cub lick into her mouth for over 10min. I will post more images and a video when I get them edited.

"Life and Times in a Bears World" (Safety Trees)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you these sweet images of this beautiful cub and its mom Mini C sleeping and resting in their safety tree.

Black bears use trees as "safety trees" primarily to protect their vulnerable cubs from predators like coyotes, and large male bears. Mother bears will send their cubs up in a sturdy tree and use it as a safe, elevated nursery while they forage nearby, occasionally up to two miles away they will also guard the area below.

The cubs sleep hidden in the crowns or play around the base, ready to climb at any hint of danger. If disturbed, they may remain quiet up the tree or yell in distress, bringing mothers running, grunting with concern.

On this morning Mini C and her cubs were up 2 different safety trees, Mini C and one of her cubs were up in this tree and 50ft up the ridge the other 3 cubs were up in another safety tree because a big male was in the area seeking some loven from another female.

"Life and Times in a Bears World" (Cuteness Overload)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you these sweet images of this beautiful cub sleeping and resting in the V of a safety tree. Can you say Cuteness Overload! I found Mini C and one of her 4 cubs resting in a tree early Saturday morning, the other 3 cubs were in a safety tree 50ft up the ridge from this tree.

It wasn't long when I figured out why they were in the tree, the huge male Big Teddy was in and around her territory courting the female Cindy Bear. Mini C and her cubs were not only resting in the trees they were seeking safety from the big male while he was romping around looking for love. I have more images and video that I will share later on so enjoy these for now, which image is your favorite and why?

"Life and Times in a Bears World" (Tasha & Little Standing Bear)

Today in Life and Times in a Bears world we share with you this sweet image of Tasha and one of her 3 cubs Little Standing Bear. I was happy to see Tasha and her 3 new spring cubs back in their usual territory last week. I haven't seen her since early last fall and thought the worst that she had been killed during last falls bear hunting season.

I knew is she survived that she should emerge from her den or hiding spot this spring with new cubs, I don't know where she has been or hiding but glad she has survived, has new cubs and showed back up in her usual territory. I have more images of her and her family that I will share when I get them edited.
