Somehow tonight is the first night I’ll be at the peninsula this summer? I really can’t wait for it. There’s something about driving with the windows down, the lake breeze drifting through the car, and knowing I’m on my way to document another family’s story that I’ll never grow tired of.

Documenting families at Presque Isle are always some of my favorite sessions. Whether we’re right on the water or tucked up on a sand dune. Taking a moment to be with your closest people on one of the most gorgeous spots in town will never get old.

Summer is here and I’m SO excited to document both new and familiar faces this season. Getting ready to document a few family sessions and spend my June weekends photographing weddings as both a lead and second shooter. This time of year always fills my cup creatively.

Balancing home life and work will probably always be a work in progress, but getting to document your people makes every bit of it worth it. Plus… my son has slept through the night two days in a row now, so I’d say we’re thriving 🤪

Motherhood begins in the quietest, most extraordinary way—carrying a whole little life while moving through your days as if everything is the same… even though nothing is. There’s something beautifully surreal about it.
