Since today is National Lighthouse Day, here are two of my most popular images of the historic Presque Isle Lighthouse in my corner of the world.

Once dubbed “The loneliest place on earth,” by its keepers because of its isolated location on the peninsula along the Lake Erie shore, it wasn’t until 1927 that a road was finally constructed connecting it to the mainland.

On my most recent trip to Michigan, I made a stop at Little Sable Lighthouse, which has become one of my favorite Lake Michigan Lighthouses through the years. As you can see, the lighting was absolute perfection.

Last summer, the Battle Estates in Girard, Pennsylvania, was aglow with a vast field of sunflowers. I haven't heard if they plan to have a redo this time around, but I wanted to share an image of what I was visualizing last year around this time.
