I'm at a point where I don't do much photography anymore, but I am so glad I was invited to be part of this wedding. Not only did I get to hang out with some pretty special people but I got to spend the weekend in Las Vegas. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Ortiz. I wish you many happy years.

I was almost finished with this wedding when my computer died its final death. There were tears shed, but on the bright side going back through and editing has let me see some images in a different light. Like this one. I looked right over it the first time.

I'm not sure the chickens love her as much as she loves them, but I sure love watching her take care of them.
Let's be honest, I know life isn't always easy and it isn't always full of sunshine and laughter, but documenting the moments that are sure goes a long way to brighten those gloomy days when life is hard and nothing is going right. What perks you up on those hard to get through days?

I don't photograph many seniors because my passion is helping families document the moments that mean the most to them. However, I was honored when this lovely young lady asked me to do hers. I don't think I have ever laughed as hard at a session as I did during hers.

I have watched her grow into a lovely young woman with an infectious smile and a beautiful sense of humor. She became part of my family in the most amazing way and I am proud to call her cousin. I know the road isn't always easy, but there are great things ahead for you.

May "The LORD bless you, and keep you; The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace."

Teaching kids to work together to accomplish something is an important lesson that will help set them up for success later in life.
It's not always easy and sometimes it feels better to just do the hard things (like feeding out big bales of hay) ourselves, but giving kids the opportunity to struggle a little and work it out in the safety of home gives them the confidence to work it out for themselves when they leave the safety of our wings.
Also, it's great for building confidence in relationships. I hope as they grow that they will always have the confidence to ask one another for help.
