I’ve gotten a handful of requests for prints recently…and have also been getting more and more disturbed with the current junk show that is our federal government when it comes to environmental issues…and pretty much everything else. So I had an idea…if any of you are interested in a landscape print for someone for Christmas, I’ve compiled a bunch at the link below and I’ll donate all proceeds to the Wilderness Society to help them continue their fight to protect the wilderness where a lot of these photos were taken. It’s a win-win-win. You get a last minute Christmas gift, the Wilderness Society gets some money, and I get to feel all warm and fuzzy that someone likes my photography. What do you think? At the end of our first day of skiing in Hokkaido, in a blizzard, the snow stopped and the fierce winds subsided revealing this tranquil, somewhat desolate scene. Peaceful moments like this are rare in Japan, at least they were for us.

Wrapping up a great first week in Japan...land of beautiful birches, natural hot springs at every turn, gourmet 7/11s, vending machines with beer and a little bit of snow...pretty much heaven I guess.

Glowing cottonwoods in the Dirty Devil canyons of Utah. I took this photo on a week long backpack exploring these canyons a year ago. I remember going to bed one windless night and feeling this odd sensation that there wasn't a single sound in the air. No moving water, rustling leaves or chirping insects. It was sort of erie...in a good way.
