My daughter and I flew to Portland and drove to Washington, to purchase a Rhodesian Ridgeback from Yvonne Smith, the owner of SuwediRidgebacks.com on the afternoon of Saturday, April 21st. We drove back to the Portland, Oregon airport and flew back to Las Vegas the same evening.
Not 12 hours later, Sunday, April 22, 2022, my daughter received a text from Yvonne Smith saying the puppies were sick. Sunday evening Koda, her puppy was throwing up and Monday morning she took him to her vet where he has remained for three days with tests, medication and almost round the clock IV’s.
Yvonne said in her texts that she has been to two different veterinarians, and both showed positive for Parvo. My daughters vet tests results showed Cryptosporidium, both being a parasite virus and highly contagious.
For three days now, my daughter has texted Yvonne pleading for the name and phone number of her vet so give to her vet so both could share results to create a plan, but the breeder has refused to provide that information. She has stated in her texts that my daughter’s puppy is with a vet with a full staff looking after him but “SHE IS THE VET” trying to save her puppies which leads us to believe she never took her puppies to the vet at all and is not a licensed veterinarian herself.
My daughter informed Yvonne she wants to return the puppy, for a full refund plus all the vet bills that have now exceeded $3,000, but with Parvo she cannot travel because the puppy is so contagious and still at the vet undergoing loving care and treatment. The truth is she doesn’t want to return him and hasn’t stopped crying since Sunday. It is not easy to see your 50-year-old daughter, fall apart.
This woman should not be allowed to advertise herself as a breeder to unsuspecting people and I am hoping you will ban her from ever selling a puppy, through your site ever again.
