Del Mar City lifeguards, 1981 first USA agency to use an inflatable 12' 6" rescue boat, that's 39 years ago.... Thanks to Gardner Stevens, Grant Larson, Jack Ross, donators:
Helen Woodward, Jim Scripps... the DM community. As a rescue boat operator (29 years) I was part of the DMLG team lifesaving hundreds of swimmers!

Bill Erwin surfing (17th St. Del Mar) was duck diving out through a wave, and was run over, (8am) with a cut artery behind his knee... off duty lifeguard surfing, and locals carried Bill up to front door HQ (BUT LOCKED) but found the side garage door unlocked to use the phone for medics
1979...saved!
