“The creation of a more peaceful and happier society has to begin from the level of the individual, and from there it can expand to one's family, to one's neighborhood, to one's community and so on.” - The Dalai Lama
I first started working with Anna in 2019 when the amazing introduced us at a photoshoot that we were doing in Encinitas. Anna struck me as one of those incredibly resilient people that somehow always has more energy for life, no matter what she is greeted with each day. Granted, she'll definitely speak her truth and absolutely call bu****it for what it is, but I would also always see her pushing through said bu****it to somehow emerge ahead. As we got to know each other, I realized that we were both going through massively transitional changes in life at the time. One of the things that she showed me was that you have to start from within and work on yourself so that then you can show up for your kids, your loved ones, your friends, and your family. Her commitment to personal growth over the last few years has been super inspiring. Just recently she completed her yoga teacher training, not necessarily to have a career as a yoga instructor, but to deepen her practice and understanding of the asanas.
I am so grateful for friends like Anna in this community and so many people that touch my life each day. Sometimes we might only share a quick smile and a nod, sometimes it is a long conversation, but it is amazing how simply sending love, acknowledgment, appreciation and support to the people that you encounter each day can make such a difference in all of our lives. Taking care of each other really does add up. You might not know what another person is going through at any given moment, so a little kindness and compassion can go a long way. Keep going. Keep sending others love. Keep being kind and caring to yourself.
If you haven't done something kind for yourself lately, I'd highly recommend scheduling a massage . You'll be glad you did.
Much love,
Shane
