There aren’t many places left where you can stand under a sky like this and truly appreciate how big it is.

No notifications.
No traffic.
No noise.

Just stars, silence, and a reminder that some of the best views happen after dark.

I have never been a fan of an alarm clock…

And getting out of bed for a sunrise flight is almost never the easy choice for me…

But, when I do get up early, launch the drone, and watch the first light hit the trees…

I am reminded why it’s worth getting up.

Every great road trip has that one stop you end up talking about long after you get home.

Castle Danger Brewery is one of those places.
Good beer.
Good views.
Super family friendly

And amazing pizza at Northshore Pizza Cafe, just a couple of blocks away.

Some of the best parts of Minnesota are found when you slow down enough to enjoy them.

Have you been here yet?

We have found that some of the best views in Minnesota aren’t found from the road, they’re found after taking the trail less traveled.

On a recent hike to a waterfall along the North Shore, we were reminded why we keep coming back. As we stood listening to the rushing water, we heard a thought that stuck with us: if there were no rocks in a waterfall’s path, it wouldn’t look or sound the way we know it does. The beauty, the power, and the unmistakable roar all come from the obstacles it encounters along the way.

Maybe life works the same way.

The challenges, setbacks, and unexpected turns in our path can feel frustrating in the moment, but they often shape us into who we become and create some of our most meaningful experiences.

That’s one reason we love hiking Minnesota’s North Shore. The trails, the forests, the rugged Lake Superior shoreline, and the hidden waterfalls are a reminder that the journey, and the obstacles along the way, are often what make the destination worth it.

What water fall is your favorite?

Remembering the one night I saw a Mama Bear and cub crossing the highway.

As I slammed on my breaks, another little black cub appeared from the ditch directly in front of me.

Thankfully I didn’t hit it, but it went up to my front tire and clung to it.

I put my flashers on, and other people who saw the bear, stopped and blocked the road in both directions, so the cub could get across.

Mama Bear turned around to come get her cub and almost did, until some people swerved their vehicles around all the parked ones and almost hit her and the car in front of her.

She ran off and disappeared into the woods, but the cub ran under my vehicle and proceeded to walk circles in the highway and back under my vehicle.

After it almost got hit multiple times by other people who wouldn’t stop, a Good Samaritan and I decided to take action.

Since we had no safe way of getting it across the road without getting hit by the reckless drivers (who ignored those trying to block the road with their cars) or attacked by the protective Mama Bear who was close by…

He quickly got out, grabbed the cub, and put it in my passenger seat, until the officer could arrive and help us reunite them safely.

Within a few minutes, Officer Kosmosky from department arrived to help.

He brought the cub off the highway and upwind of where we saw it’s Mama last.

He said it was reunited promptly with its Mama and sibling. Those in our community said they saw the three of them up in a tree the next day together!

It was happy ending, despite a sad and very preventable situation.

Had people cared enough to stop for just a few minutes and let the Mama Bear get her cub, this would have never happened.

A big thank you to the Good Samaritan that did stop and help me get this cub out of danger and thank you to Officer Kosmosky for returning the cub to its family.

My Mama heart is so happy that they are back together and safe.

Empathy and kindness can go a long ways in helping make this world a better place and it starts with us.

Be the change you want to see.

It may be hard…

But it’s worth it!

We got here because some part of us refused to give up.
Because we kept choosing to face what we didn’t want to pass down.

It can feel like everything that happened to you gets the final say.

The harmful family system.
The fear.
The shame.
The control.
The survival mode.

The version of you that had to adapt, just survive.

That all shapes our story. But, those things don’t get to own the ending.

At some point, healing starts to become less about making sense of why it happened and more about asking....

What kind of life are we building now?

What happened to you may not have been your fault.
The pain you had to carry may not have been fair.
The patterns you inherited may not have started with you.
But the life you build from here, IS your responsibility.

It doesn’t happen all at once.

But in the quiet choices you make moving forward.

Healing isn’t just about recovering from the past.
It’s also about taking ownership of the future you’re creating.

Its about about asking yourself questions like...

What values am I wanting to align my life to.
What do I want my kids to grow up normalizing.

It’s the choice to keep choosing growth.

We’re making a conscious choice to keep healing and aligning our life to our values.

If you’re in the depth of navigating out of dysfunction and into alignment, we want you to know that you’re not alone.

It’s hard, but…

It’s worth it.

2012 me would be so proud right now.

Not because talking to myself while trying to thread a flying camera through a scene. But because I’m experiencing the pay out of 1,000 of hours practice. From Inside my goggles...

I’m seeing motion.
Light and dust.
Timing and distance.
Risk and story.

Every little movement changes the feeling of the shot.
And for a few seconds, it feels like I’m flying through a version of life I never saw coming.

That’s what FPV has become for me.
Not just a tool in filmmaking, but a way to create the kind of perspective I used to only dream about.

We brought cinema cameras, FPV, and aerial drones together to capture CAT equipment doing what it does best.

Not polished for the sake of looking pretty.
Not overproduced to hide the work.

Just real machines.
Real operators.
Real job site energy.

The kind of footage that makes people stop scrolling because it feels bigger than a normal workday.
That’s what great video should do.

It should take the work your company already does and make people feel the scale, the trust, the experience, and the pride behind it.

Because the right visuals don’t just show equipment.

They show capability.
