My name is Michelle Milks owner/founder of Michelle Milks Photography located in Elmira Heights NY. I've always had an interest in photography growing up so when I hit high school I took the photography class (35mm film era) they offered. After high school adult life happened and it took me several years before I could pursue the photography world, by the time I was able to pursue photography ever

ything changed to the digital era so I became self taught through Google and YouTube. A few years back I decided to attend an online course for photography through the New York Institute of Photography to further my education and to receive a certificate in photography which I received. When I started this journey I was in hope that it would become a well established and successful business but as of today unfortunately photography isn't my only form of income due to the popularity photography has become for others, cell phone cameras and the fact that I choose to keep my rates affordable/reasonable so EVERYONE in my community can have pictures of their families and different life changing steps to look back at and to share with others for years to come. We have our literal first steps as a child, our first day at school, our first day of work & most importantly the first steps we take together as a married couple! My favorite part of being a photographer is helping you to preserve those special moments and turn them into your very own custom masterpiece to display on your wall or place in an album so you can share with friends and family for years to come. Remember, there does not always need to be a special occasion to have your portrait taken. A smile is nothing to keep to yourself!

I know it's only the end of July but Christmas sessions will begin in 3-3 1/2 months.. I had a few ask about Christmas pj/bedroom sessions last year my sister said I can use one of her rooms she rents out to traveling nurses to offer them.. here is the backdrop I'll be using along with an actual bed.. I'll need a minimum of 5 people who will want to do them also this will only be offered one weekend possibly 2 if I have a lot of bookings. As for the home studio backdrop if you liked last year's you'll like this year's and it kind of goes with the bedroom backdrop if you should want to do both.. stay tuned for the home studio backdrop around October maybe a little sooner😉😉

Gumball fun session update

With my schedule being pretty full until August and with it being warmer and no cooling system for my home studio (photo shed) the gumball sessions will be on hold until early fall. Sorry for any inconvenience
