I know it’s August, but soon it will be fall and I’m a sucker for fall. Though this was the very end of fall where the weather was supposed to be nice, but we all got rosey cheeks within 3 minutes of being outside. It was SO COLD.
I don’t share this family enough. I love them dearly. I actually did Ellie’s newborn photos shortly after I found out I was pregnant. Marlee and I got to bond so beautifully and we built a cool mommy friendship. She shared so much with me during Ellie’s newborn photos and I feel so close to this family. She has lifted me up in times she doesn’t even know and I am very grateful to document their family every year🥹

Taking your own posed newborn photos is not recommended tbh. Probably won’t do it again.
I had an emergency c section, could barely move, had so much extra weight on me to even sit in my proper setting in my studio, didn’t have the patience to get my sons fingers the proper way and didn’t have the energy to give this the composite it deserved, BUT I’m happy with it because it shows my smushes face and it shows that I literally was right there posing him.
ALSO if you’re breastfeeding your babe and you’re a photographer try to do this, I LEARNED FROM OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS IT’S NOT SO EASY! baby smells your milk and just doesn’t want to cooperate. Just kind of facts. INTERESTING!!!!!!

This first shot has made me feel something since the moment I took it.
I feel motherhood, parenthood
I feel love
I feel gentleness
I feel my inner child
I feel calm
I feel hurried
I feel excited
I feel life
I feel like it tells a story

This was when they hadn’t quite moved into their home yet. But there were only 3 things hung on their wall, no boxes, literally didn’t move yet. And those 3 things hung are in this photo, and they are 3 photos that I TOOK in the previous years and when I tell you I shed I tear, I’m so serious. That was the coolest thing to experience. Doing a moving photo shoot. Nothing furniture, you eat on the floor, you know the drill if you’ve moved. Nothing is in the home but 3 photos on the wall that I captured 🫶🏻. Gosh I’m honored

I found this in my DRAFTS!!!
This family has supported me from the BEGINNING. and when I say beginning, I mean when I used to do Santa minis beginning. I love them so dearly. And I didn’t even realize I had any drafts on this Instagram until my phone almost broke yesterday and now I’ve been trying to save everything I have on it.
