As the sun rises over the Napa Valley the hot air balloons are being prepared for their morning ride. I am very lucky that my friend lives right across the field. It is a sight that you just can't get tired of seeing.

As winter draws near I completed my trek to close down my campsite on the Tulalip reservation. I made friends there with some squirrel feed over the year I lived there.
A few return each time I do. I captured Sophia, preparing for winter as well, one of the few that showed up. She is one that I recognize by the scar on her face.

My first journey away from Elk in a long time. I have my trusty German Shepard with me, Xena. Traveling between Spokane and Marysville, I just had to stop at the Blue Herron Park in Mosses Lake, then at the overlook at Vantage. The Columbia River is dear to my heart and has an fascinating history, and is a huge part of mine as well.

Finch Arboretum, Spokane Washington
As I watch the surging growth in Spokane County over the last several years, I wonder if some day this will be the only place we will be able to experience the beauty and wonder of these immense old growth trees. In this arboretum the spacing and environment is groomed to allow the trees to grow to their full potential. You will find just about every kind of juniper, pine, fur and deciduous trees on the small sanctuary. It is truly a walk of wonder and ah.
