How to overcome the fear of dating or getting into a relationship?

For many of you single ladies and gentlemen out there, what do you think is your biggest barrier on the way to developing a satisfying relationship? The answer will be different for everyone, but at the same time, all of them have a common denominator - YOU. And for many, it is your Cognitive Distortions that stand in the way of you being able to develop lasting connections.

Cognitive Distortions are thought patterns that develop over long years and negatively affect the way we treat ourselves and each other. As long as you let your past experiences determine your repeated ways of thinking, you are only a passenger in the car that drives itself.

Emotional Reasoning
Overgeneralization
Labeling
Catastrophizing...

The list is long, and I'm sure those of you who are interested in working on yourself will do your homework on the topic.

"Questions to ask on a first date" is probably the most searched topic, while it should be "Questions to ask yourself before you go on the first date" :)

Biases we have tend to make our interactions with people unsatisfying and lead to a discouraging feeling of disappointment and doom. Being self-aware of our thought patterns helps us to be reasonable and find alternative ways of thinking. There is no room for fear when there are options.
