Long Dog Dahlias hosted the first Dinner in the Dahlias last night and it was stunning!!! Every detail was carefully planned and the weather was perfect.

This was their first farm-to-table dinner where every part of the event came from local businesses.

I recently met the owners at our local farmers market and they are the sweetest family ever. I fell in love with their beautiful flowers and asked if they would be interested in making a homecoming bouquet....not only did Hanna say yes she allowed my daughter to go to their flower farm and pick out which flowers she wanted in her bouquet.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your Dinner in the Dahlias. ❤️

Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.....Dr. Seuss.

Hello everyone.....I wanted to reintroduce myself it has been awhile. (almost 4 years to be honest) My life feels just like the quote above. My family endured a tragedy at the end of 2020 that left me with no ambition to ever take a picture again. It is pretty hard to photograph other families when your family just fell apart and you had no idea even where to begin in picking up the pieces.
I have to say thank you to my daughter that next year when sports began she asked me to please bring my camera to a softball game. That was the beginning for me, a slow beginning. I would photograph the team and I loved to watch the girls get excited over seeing themselves playing a sport they loved.
I then began taking senior pictures if asked, but never back to family pictures....until recently a dear friend reached out and asked me if I would take pictures of her newborn. I felt a strong desire to do it and with her patience in my very slow editing I did my first real family picture since the loss of my husband.
I have realized my healing may take forever, but I want to be able to help capture moments for others so that they have them to look back on for years to come.
With my daughter getting ready to enter her senior year it is time to blow the dust off of my camera and make myself available to get back at what I love to do.

This year I have taken a break from photography but when asked to visit the sunflower field for senior pictures I could not resist.....my happy place is back!
(and goofing around is mandatory 😉)
