The sweetest little session to celebrate and next step with their newest addition to their family. Quinn was so sweet and adorable and their house was so welcoming and cozy which was perfect for snuggling up together 💗
Every newborn session has been different, but it was amazing to capture Quinn smiling as her mama gave her a little kiss 🥺

I may be biased, but this family sessions one of my favorites 💕 it’s such an honor getting to capture my favorite people (and built in best friends) and their milestones over the years. From growing up, to capturing their surprise proposal, then engagement and wedding, then pregnancy announcement and now my niece’s first photo session, it’s been a joy to document my sister and brother-in-law throughout it all. Love y’all 🫶

Even with a day filled with torrential downpour and thunderstorms, and took all of it in stride and had the best attitudes, focusing on what the day was really about. There was laughter, tears, nervousness and oh so much love and joy.
They were so willing to roll with the changes and just as eager to trust the vision I had as we figured out how to get beautiful portraits and photos with the wedding party after the storms continued on.
I had a blast capturing all the love and happiness! Congratulations again and here’s to many years of happiness together!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 👻🎃
TBT one of my favorite Halloween shoots to date with an amazing team of Iowa wedding vendors!
There’s something that feels so magical when it starts to feel cooler outside and the days look golden as the leaves change 🍂
Sarah and Austin soaked up the perfect autumn weather for their October engagement session in Effingham. More photos to come later from our time at Wheat Penny Bar downtown!

Callie + Josh | 09.20.25
A little sneak peek into Callie and Josh’s beautiful Lake Sara wedding. What started as a sunny day quickly turned into rain and thunderstorms, but these two handled it with so much joy and grace.
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, a symbol of new beginnings, cleansing, and unity, and I can’t think of anything more fitting for Callie and Josh. The way they embraced it all was such a testament to their love.
Their family and friends were incredible, so patient, supportive, and ready to celebrate big once the dance floor opened up. I feel so honored to have been part of such a heartfelt day. Wishing you both all the love in the world and congratulations again! ❤️
Here are some sneak peeks from a beautiful day with and in Effingham! I’m obsessed with just the few I’ve edited and can’t wait to share more! Congratulations to you both 💕

Oh hey! It's us - Britney Walters-Chester and Lydia Heydlauff. We're photographers/videographers based out of Ames, Iowa. More importantly, however, we are two human beings who love rock climbing, jumping around at concerts, bashing on every season of The Bachelor (we secretly love it, and we know you do too), investing too much mental energy into board games, and watching videos of puppies try to walk up stairs for the first time.
We met in 2016 at the local climbing wall, and we immediately bonded over our shared love of The Office and our interest in creative work. Fast forward a bit, and we'd been working together in a marketing office for about two years! Our idea for Lavinia + Louise bounced around for a while, but it wasn't until the summer of 2018 that it finally became a reality. Our interests and talents compliment each other perfectly, making us a great fit as business partners, friends, and chefs (i.e. Britney does the baking and cooking, and Lydia does the taste-testing).
LAVINIA + LOUISE
One question we get a lot: how did you think of the name for Lavinia + Louise Creative Co.? Well, there’s a bit of a story behind it! Obviously, thinking of a name is a major step in the business-starting process. We wanted a name that represented not only the two of us, but our values, our individual personalities, and the vibe we wanted our business to have.
We started broad. There were three things we really wanted to emphasize. The first two being femininity, and … well … baddass-ery? As outdoors-women and adventure-seekers (wow, look at all of those hyphenated words), we value our ability to embrace our femininity while we do the things we love, and support other women. Women are forces to be reckoned with, and we want to toss aside stigma and show the world what we really are: powerful, graceful, and wild. Our next (and most difficult) step in the name-seeking process was finding a way to incorporate value #3: family and love. We believe that everyone deserves a place to be loved unconditionally and feel accepted. Because we both come from tight-knit families, we wanted to include in our business the appreciation we have for those who have shaped and guided us throughout our lives. After weeks of brain storming, we came to a decision that made perfect sense to the both of us. Using our grandmother’s middle names was our way of honoring the two most inspiring (feminine, and badass) people in our lives. These are the women who have taught us to be kind, seek out adventure, and pursue the unknown all while embracing each and every one of our quirks. They taught us to be strong women. From sewing and painting, to baling hay and climbing trees, our grandmothers have continuously been our inspiration for becoming the absolute best versions of ourselves. What could be better than that?
