I recently had the honor of photographing a large family in the backyard of an Airbnb.
We were planning out the photoshoot for somewhere basic like downtown when they informed me of how they had some props in their backyard I wanted to incorporate.
I discovered this family created Jewish ‘Suukah’. A ‘sukkah’ is a temporary hut constructed for use during the week-long Jewish festival of Sukkot.

This humbled me because the family was devoted to their religion, super respectful , generous, and they bought decor + furniture + special religious props to have a place to enjoy and praise God while they met with their congregation even though they’re just visiting El Paso.
What started out as a super last minute 45 minute photoshoot ended up being one of the greatest I’ve ever experienced. It’s amazing when my clients make their experience personal and teach me about how their families and lives. The energy was beautiful all around and I look forward to meeting many more clients.
