One of the most important parts of a newborn session actually happens long before your baby is ever placed in front of my camera.
The pre-consultation.

This is where I learn *you*.
What kind of images make your heart pause.
What you absolutely love… and what you don’t connect with at all.
The colors you’re drawn to, the textures you imagine in your home, whether you want your session to feel soft and minimal, rich and artistic, deeply emotional, or full of tiny meaningful details.

The final portrait you see here didn’t happen by accident.
Every little element — from the heart-shaped vessel, to the tones, to the way baby was gently posed — was thoughtfully planned with the family’s vision in mind.

That’s why I always recommend booking your newborn session while you’re still pregnant.
It gives us time to design something intentional instead of rushed.
Once baby arrives, life becomes beautifully chaotic, and having everything prepared ahead of time makes the experience so much more peaceful for everyone.

And because these sleepy curled-up poses are safest and most natural when babies are still tiny and flexible, newborn sessions are ideally photographed within the first 3 weeks after birth.

These portraits are never “just pictures” to me.
They’re the beginning of your baby’s story.
And every beautiful story deserves thought, care, and intention from the very beginning.

Not every pose you see in newborn photography is just “placed.”
And not every baby is ready for it.

What you don’t see in the final image… is everything that came before it.

The pauses.
The waiting.
The quiet observation.

Because newborn photography is not about posing a baby.
It’s about listening to them.

Every tiny movement is a cue.
A stretch, a sigh, the way their fingers curl, the way their breathing changes…
they’re constantly telling us what feels safe, what feels natural, what they’re ready for — and what they’re not.

And my job is to respect that. Every single time.

That’s why some poses take time.
That’s why I will never force a baby into something just because it “looks beautiful.”

Because safety isn’t a checklist.
It’s a mindset.
It’s training, experience, and intuition coming together in real time.

The final image you see?
It’s not just a pose.

It’s a baby who felt safe.
Supported.
Respected.

And that… is what truly makes it beautiful.

Most people think a newborn session is just… showing up and taking pictures.

It’s not.
Every detail you see here is planned before your baby even arrives —
the tones, the textures, the way your baby will be gently posed, the feeling your final images will carry.
Because when you walk into my studio, you’re not figuring things out…
you’re simply stepping into something already created for you.
So you can slow down.
So you can trust the process.
So your baby is handled with care, intention, and safety at every step.
And what you take home isn’t just “photos”…
it’s the beginning of your baby’s story — thoughtfully designed, beautifully preserved.
If you’re expecting and want an experience like this, send me a message. Let’s plan something meaningful for your little one.

It’s not because they don’t care.

It’s because they’re tired.
Healing.
Still trying to figure everything out.
And somewhere in the middle of all that…
it feels easier to just skip it.
But every single mom who walks into my studio unsure…
leaves with something she didn’t expect.
Not just photos—
but a moment where she finally slows down and just is with her baby.
If you’ve been thinking about it but not feeling ready… you’re not alone
Did you ever feel this way?

She sat down thinking this would be the easiest part…
just pick a few favorites and be done.

But then something shifted.

It wasn’t about choosing the “best” photos anymore.
It was about this feeling—
seeing her baby, her family, this new chapter… all at once.

And suddenly, it didn’t feel like something you scroll past on your phone.

It felt like something you hold on to.

That’s why I don’t rush this part.
Because this is where your story really comes together—
not just as images, but as something you’ll come back to years from now.

If you’ve been thinking about documenting this season, I’d love to create something meaningful for you.

Its always in the details. I just made subtle change by adding layers and colors and it gives a whole different look. It less disruptive to the baby and great for variety.

There is a moment, right after your second baby arrives…
where everything feels different—but you can’t quite explain how.

Your arms are fuller.
Your attention is divided.
Your heart is doing something it has never done before.

And your first baby?
They’re standing right there… learning this new world with you.

These are the moments that don’t get talked about enough.
The quiet transitions.
The unspoken shifts.
The way a family grows—not loudly, but deeply.

This is why newborn photography matters.
Not for perfect poses.
Not for social media.

But because this exact chapter—right here, right now—
will be the one you struggle to put into words later.

If you’re in Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Roseville, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Elk Grove, or Sacramento,
this is your reminder—

You don’t get this version of your family back.

And one day, these images will mean more than you expect.
