One of the most important parts of a newborn session actually happens long before your baby is ever placed in front of my camera.
The pre-consultation.
This is where I learn *you*.
What kind of images make your heart pause.
What you absolutely love… and what you don’t connect with at all.
The colors you’re drawn to, the textures you imagine in your home, whether you want your session to feel soft and minimal, rich and artistic, deeply emotional, or full of tiny meaningful details.
The final portrait you see here didn’t happen by accident.
Every little element — from the heart-shaped vessel, to the tones, to the way baby was gently posed — was thoughtfully planned with the family’s vision in mind.
That’s why I always recommend booking your newborn session while you’re still pregnant.
It gives us time to design something intentional instead of rushed.
Once baby arrives, life becomes beautifully chaotic, and having everything prepared ahead of time makes the experience so much more peaceful for everyone.
And because these sleepy curled-up poses are safest and most natural when babies are still tiny and flexible, newborn sessions are ideally photographed within the first 3 weeks after birth.
These portraits are never “just pictures” to me.
They’re the beginning of your baby’s story.
And every beautiful story deserves thought, care, and intention from the very beginning.
