HORSE DUMPED ON ROADSIDE SPARKS MAJOR INVESTIGATION IN TEXAS — SUSPECT CONFESSES, BUT OTHERS STILL AT LARGE

A disturbing discovery on County Road 4140 in Crockett, Texas, has triggered an active investigation after a dead horse was found dumped along the roadside, raising serious environmental and legal concerns.

A concerned resident first alerted authorities after noticing the carcass in a remote stretch of the road. The situation quickly escalated due to health risks from decomposition, prompting an urgent response. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office coordinated an after-hours removal operation, with local officials bringing in heavy machinery to safely lift and dispose of the animal.

Precinct 3 Commissioner Gene Stokes and equipment operator Neil Westerfield assisted in the difficult cleanup effort, which also required weighing the remains to determine potential legal penalties under Texas dumping laws.

A 29-year-old South Carolina man, Desmond Levon Brown of Orangeburg, has pleaded guilty to federal animal cruelty charges after prosecutors say he tortured and burned a puppy alive during a Facebook Live broadcast.

According to federal investigators, Brown was captured on video holding the puppy over a fire, dropping it into the flames, and repeatedly kicking the helpless animal back into the fire as it burned.

The case is being prosecuted under the federal Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act, making it the first known conviction under the law in South Carolina. Authorities say the use of an accelerant transported across state lines brought the case under federal jurisdiction.

Brown now faces:

🚨 **3 DOGS FOUND DEAD, 7 STARVING — NORTH CAROLINA MAN CHARGED IN SHOCKING ANIMAL CRUELTY CASE** 🚨

Authorities say Ricky McCoy Cooper Jr. of Como, North Carolina, is facing **10 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty** after investigators discovered a heartbreaking scene on his property.

On April 30, deputies and animal control officers responded to complaints about dogs living in terrible conditions. What they found was devastating: **the decomposing remains of three dogs** and **seven surviving dogs that were severely emaciated**, confined outdoors in pens or on chains.

According to PETA, fieldworkers had visited the property for years, providing free doghouses, food, water buckets, and other essentials to help the animals. After receiving a neighbor's complaint, they returned with law enforcement and uncovered the full extent of the neglect.

Veterinarians later confirmed that **six of the surviving dogs were suffering from heartworm disease**. Necropsies on two of the deceased dogs revealed they had been **starved and suffered from parasites, fleas, flystrike, and advanced heartworm disease** before dying.

The surviving dogs were rescued, surrendered to PETA, and transferred to the Virginia Beach SPCA, where they are receiving urgent medical treatment, rehabilitation, and a chance at finding loving homes.

Cooper was arrested on June 5 and later released on bond. His court arraignment was scheduled for June 10.

This is tough to watch, but our community needs to talk about it. Body camera footage was just released following a devastating incident in Mequon, Wisconsin, and the details are sparking widespread calls for accountability and change.

On April 23, former Thiensville Police Officer Richard C. McCormick encountered two loose pit bulls near Highland and Cedarburg Roads. Reports confirm he was not responding to a call for service and was outside his primary jurisdiction when he attempted to capture them.

The situation escalated rapidly. Footage shows the dogs moving toward the officer, and multiple shots were fired.

🌈 One innocent dog tragically lost its life at the scene.

🐾 The second dog, now named Ranger, was shot and severely injured. Terrified, he fled into the woods.

Our hearts are incredibly heavy today. If you’ve walked the halls of a Walpole school or been part of our community over the last 8 years, you likely knew and loved Rebel. 🐾

Tragically, Rebel passed away on June 9th following a devastating, low-speed accident at the police station. Officials confirmed it was a terrible accident with no negligence involved. Her devoted handler and best friend, School Resource Officer Tom Hart, was right by her side until the very end.

🌟 A Legacy of Pure Love
Rebel wasn't just a dog; she was Walpole's very first Community Resource Dog and the pioneer of the GOFI (Golden Opportunities for Independence) program.

She comforted nervous students in kindergarten classrooms.

She provided strength to families navigating their darkest, most traumatic moments.

She inspired surrounding communities like Brookline, Franklin, and even the MA State Police to start comfort dog programs of their own.

On June 15th, Walpole showed up to prove exactly what Rebel meant to us. Hundreds of residents, students holding handmade signs, and fellow pet owners lined the streets during her solemn procession, giving her the beautiful, tearful hero's send-off she deserved. 🚔🕊️

Now, K9 Rip and K9 Boomer are gone.

The two Salem County Sheriff's Office K9s died under circumstances that remain unexplained, and many are asking the same heartbreaking question: **How did two healthy working dogs lose their lives while on duty?**

💔 DOG DRAGGED HIMSELF FOR DAYS WHILE OWNER ALLEGEDLY REFUSED MEDICAL HELP 💔

A Florida dog is lucky to be alive after deputies say he was left suffering with devastating injuries and denied urgent veterinary care.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies responding to a separate investigation in Alva, Florida, discovered a dog named Loki in heartbreaking condition. Witnesses described Loki dragging his hind legs, shaking uncontrollably, and appearing to be in severe pain.

Investigators later learned that Loki had reportedly been struck by a vehicle several days earlier. Despite the dog's worsening condition, authorities allege that his owner, 40-year-old Michael Crandall, failed to seek medical treatment.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office Animal Cruelty Task Force immediately stepped in, rescuing Loki and transporting him to an emergency veterinarian. Medical evaluations revealed severe spinal trauma.

Thankfully, despite the seriousness of his injuries, veterinarians expect Loki to survive and continue his recovery.

"There is absolutely no excuse for allowing an animal to endure this level of pain without medical care," Sheriff Carmine Marceno said while praising deputies and animal cruelty investigators for saving the injured dog.

Jameson, a beloved 2-year-old family dog, was tragically shot and killed by LAPD officers after they responded to a call about screaming from an apartment in Canoga Park.
