About, hmmm, maybe 2 weeks ago now, (sorry, computer went down, $$$ later....) my friend Tracy Smith & I took a road trip to Sandy Hook, Gateway National Recreation Area.
This is a very interesting park. If you have a chance to visit, I'm sure you will find something for everyone.
Lots of history, wildlife, seals, beaches, even a lighthouse! And much more!

I've lost count on the dead and dying of the various birds here on Patcong Creek in EHT.
I wish I had better news.
I've talked to so many people with the bottom line being someone coming out to test these birds and there isn't anyone available to do that.
I can't begin to tell you how sad it is looking out my window and looking for the birds. You can hear it in their voices that many more are sick.
I've lived here for 38 years.

Update.... I believe the # is 8 now of the different birds we've lost. The list includes geese, black backed gull, Mallard duck, small gull, and now have to include a great blue heron.
This is only my distance of seeing, but I'll bet there is more.
I spent the entire Thursday morning on the phone with various people, but still no where. Nobody calls back or if they answer, they give you another #. I believe i may be at the right place now, the USDA, but the vets haven't been around either. I've called since Fri. Maybe Monday will be better.
I'll let you know.
