Last bit of wildlife shots from Manuel Antonio National Park. Felt bad for this Mexican Hairy Dwarf Porcupine, we interrupted his nap, although he was sleeping right above the trail. The Proboscis bats looked irritated with us too.

A bit of monkeying around.
Central American White-faced Capuchin monkey. Or the white-faced Mafia as they are referred to, locally as they like to take what they want. Also pictured is the Central American Squirrel Monkey and the Mantled Howler Monkey. We were lucky to see all three close together which I hear is more often rare.

Brown-throated Three-toed Sloth. You can't probably see but a baby sloth is right next to her. They were up pretty high in dark foliage with bright light behind them. Was cool to see but was a very crowded spot as everyone else wanted a glimpse too.

Got to watch where you step in the jungle. Just a few feet off the trail we see a small Terciopelo, a species of pit viper. Commonly called the fer-de-lance. The park rangers ended up moving it away, too close for comfort. Took me a long while to acquire in the lens from a safe distance as it was camouflaged well.

Spent the day hiking around in Manuel Antonio National Park in Quepos Costa Rica. February 2026
Couldn't get any great pictures of this Brown-throated Three Toed Sloth but was still really cool to see in the wild, he was just up a tree on the side of a busy road. They really do move as slow as you see on tv. The bats were cool too.
