It has been a very long time since I have held my camera. I was asked to shoot for the Seattle Area Feline Rescue's charity calendar and I thought it would be a good opportunity to see if I still know how a camera works. Emma, Miss March, was the perfect subject to test my skills on.

Have you ever seen an all black penguin? Now you have. This poor guy had fallen in the mud. We are not sure how he could have been the only one who did it. We are hoping that once he got warmed up in the sun, that he was able to get in the water to clean off and that his waterproofing wasn't affected. It looked as if his social status might have been affected, as he didn't appear to have any friends.

I have just returned to the real world from an amazing trip to Antarctica. It has been a bit of a shock, so I want to add some beauty to the world right now. It will take some time for me to go through my images, but I plan to post one or two regularly for the next little while. When possible, I will try to tell a story with the images. I won't necessarily be posting my best shots first, they will most likely be a random assortment. Today I start with seals. I was amazed at the differences in the 4 species we saw. They all make me think they are just sea puppy dogs, except Leopard Seals - they just look EVIL! I will post some Leopard Seals at a later date, but for now, enjoy some sea-puppies with our ship in the distance. Take care everyone, and stay healthy!

Yesterday I did pet photos with Santa at the Animal Medical Center of Seattle as a fundraiser for the Seattle Area Feline Rescue. We raised nearly $400 in three hours! Merry Christmas kitties!!

An interesting video about the bus shelters. You can see one of my two images (the iguana) starting at 2:22.

The Rotary club asked me to shoot their inaugural Oktoberfest event this weekend. The organizers were very smart to allow kids and dogs! It looked like everyone was having a great time.
