It’s been almost ten years since I first picked up a film camera.
What started as a college assignment became a growing love with the process. The experimenting, the mistakes, the trial and error, the hours spent under the red light of a darkroom.
I fell in love with the slowness of it all.
With having to wait.
Film taught me to pay attention to the moments in between. To anticipate a laugh before it happened, to wait for the light to fall just right, to feel a moment coming before I ever pressed the shutter.
There are no endless frames. No instant previews. No way to know exactly what you’ve captured until it’s already gone.
And maybe that’s what makes it so beautiful.
Because there’s something about film that feels a lot like memory - nostalgic, fleeting, a little hazy around the edges, and somehow all the more beautiful because it’s never quite perfect.
