It is with a heavy heart that I tell you - Christian Professional Photographers - that we have lost a dear friend - Stella Kidd. She went home to be with our Lord on Sunday (mother's day) May 9th, 2021. Stella bravely and without even a tiny waver in her faith battled cancer for the last several years. Many might say that she lost the fight - but, that just isn't true. Her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior gave her the victory - she now is at her home in Heaven.
Stella leaves behind her devoted husband, Mark and three children, Mark W. Kidd, Christina Kidd Stevens and Adam Kidd. She also was loved by her grandchildren, siblings, aunts, uncles and a multitude of friends from across the US and around the world.
Her legacy in photography will live on for centuries, but, it was her devotion to Jesus that makes her legacy truly unending. Along with a friend in Lexington, KY, Stella began a homeless ministry (Church Under The Bridge) that continues this day to minister to many people in need - physically, emotionally and especially spiritually.
Stella was a person who always was ready to listen and to pray for any need that anyone spoke of. Her caring heart and kind spirit will never be forgotten by so many that she touched - including me. She will be sorely missed here on this earth. I miss her already!
Details of her Memorial Service will be coming later today. Update: The funeral home that is caring for Stella is Milward Funeral Home - Southland location in Lexington, Kentucky. The family will be receiving visitors from 1 to 3:30pm on Saturday, May 15th, 2021. The funeral service will take place at 4:00pm at Milward Funeral Home.
The family asks in lieu of flowers please make donations in Stella's honor to Church Under The Bridge - Lexington, Kentucky. Follow this link for more information on how to donate: http://www.churchunderthebridge.net/donate.html
Please be in prayer for the Kidd family as they work out the details for the celebration of Stella Kidd's life and legacy. Though I am sure that they are thankful that she is no longer in pain, they are also so very sad to not have her here physically with them. Please let other photographers know about our sweet Stella. Thanks in advance for praying for them. They are a very special family.
