Joyful Photography

Joyful Photography The art of photography has its origins dating back to the early 1800's when photographs were printed on pieces of glass and tin.
(1)

In that era, photography was a complicated and scientific process and few people had the capability to take pictures. Today, anyone can take a photo if they have a cell phone; capturing practically every moment of their life. However, taking pictures of your dinner isn't necessarily art; it's simply documentation of something that's important to the viewer. Photography as an art requires so much m

ore than just pressing a button. It requires special skills most of us don't possess. The ability to have painstaking patience, seeing something the casual eye misses, being able to transform the daily sights of our world into something that tells a story; these are the skills of a photographic artist. Bonni Myszka has these special skills. After humble beginnings as an amateur photographer, her work was noticed and she began publishing her photographs and receiving awards. She now has her work displayed in galleries and actively sells her photography. Her father, a Marine Corps Veteran, believed in her talent and encouraged her early in life by having her photograph Veterans' ceremonies. After he passed away, she continued her passion for documenting military ceremonies. Later, Bonni expanded her repertoire to include natural settings but never forgot her father's wishes to capture those Veteran events that were so important to him. She became involved with a veteran’s organization, volunteering to take pictures at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery along with other significant community events including Wreaths Across America, 911 ceremonies and Veteran funerals. Bonni's passion is about capturing moments that are integral to the appreciation of the wonders of living. She strives to embody the deepest essence of the natural world that surrounds us and the moments that will live in people's memories. She hopes her work will have a positive impact on its viewers and perhaps serve a greater good. Bonni believes you can tell a story in pictures, without words or narrative. Look deeply at her work and you will see the magic in even the commonplace, and from there, a story will unfold.

Mental Heath awareness is so important and Speak up; Tomorrow needs you is doing so much in bringing the community together.

Whether you come to support, walk, donate.....it all matters.

SOMETHING BIG IS COMING TO VOLUSIA COUNTY.

On September 19, 2026, hundreds of people will gather before sunrise for a challenge that is far greater than 22 miles.

They will walk for those we've lost.
They will walk for those still fighting battles nobody can see.
They will walk for veterans, first responders, family members, friends, and complete strangers who need to know they are not alone.

Last year, more than 200 people stepped forward and took on the journey. This year, we're calling on our community to make history.

Join us for the 5th Annual 22 Miles for 22 Walk presented by Tomorrow Needs You Inc.

Saturday, September 19, 2026
Riverwalk Park
Walk begins at 6:30 AM (Arrive by 6:00 AM)

As the sun rises over the Halifax River, a sea of supporters will begin a 22-mile journey through Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach, and Edgewater. Every mile will carry a message that mental health matters and that no veteran or first responder should ever fight alone.

This isn't a race.

It's a test of commitment.
A display of unity.
A statement that our community refuses to stay silent.

Walk 1 mile.
Walk 5 miles.
Walk 11 miles.
Walk all 22.

No matter how far you go, every step sends a message of hope.

The route will be supported by law enforcement escorts, water stations every two miles, shuttle vehicles for those needing assistance, and music throughout the day to keep the momentum alive.

What started with a small group of people determined to make a difference has become one of the largest community events dedicated to veteran and first responder mental health awareness in our area.

Now it's time for Year Five.

Time to go bigger.
Time to go farther.
Time to show what this community is truly capable of.

Registration is free, but the impact is priceless.

Register today:

Donations are always appreciated and directly support local veterans and first responders through mental health programs, counseling assistance, and camaraderie-based events.

Venmo:

Whether you're walking for someone you love, someone you've lost, someone still struggling, or for yourself, your presence matters.

September 19th is more than a date.

It's a day when a community comes together.
A day when stories are shared.
A day when lives can be changed.

The question is simple:

Will you answer the call?

Tomorrow Needs You.

On Sunday Lt Governor Jay Collins came to AmVets Post 2 in Edgewater to visit, speak to and answer questions from our local Veterans.

He and Sheriff Mike Chitwood presented 10 awards including 2 to our local 102 year old Mr Art Hobbs.

They graciously stayed and took pictures with Veterans, Police Officers and Honor Guard.

It was an honor watching this decorated Veteran come in and speak with other Veterans like they were old buddies and I believe some became buddies!

And on a personal note, it was truly an honor to be asked to photograph this event and these memories.

I would like to thank AmVets for hosting, Lt. Governor Collins and his staff for arranging his schedule to accommodate us, Sheriff Chitwood for always being available to support our Veterans, Edgewater Police Department for their incredible support, the AmVets Honor Guard and Renee Sortman who worked tirelessly making sure our Veterans were honored properly.

To all our Veterans who came, and those who couldn’t make it…..Thank you for your service.
