It’s the Friday before the first Saturday in May, which means it’s Kentucky Oaks! Oaks is the ladies day and part of the Derby (-eve) magic. These frames are a little Oaks nostalgia from last year, photographed on my travel‑everywhere Leica D‑Lux 8. I always have some kind of camera with me whether it's my (Samsung S24 Ultra) phone, this Leica for travel or my trusted Canon R6's cameras - something will always catch my eye and I'll need to capture it. A lot of times it helps me remember those moments but there's something extra special about Derby weekend that makes every corner feel like a moment worth keeping and they usually are the ones you don't expect 🩷
