Happy Monday, everyone!!

I wanted to take a few moments this morning to share a little more about who I am, my experiences, and why I'm running to serve as your next Sheriff.

Many people know me as a Substance Abuse Counselor, advocate, and community leader. Others know me through my law enforcement experience and my commitment to helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives. What many may not know is that my passion for serving this community comes from personal experience.

I've lived through struggles. I've experienced loss firsthand. I've seen the devastating impact of substance use, mental illness, and a judicial system that too often addresses symptoms rather than causes. I've watched families fall apart, loved ones suffer, and good people lose their way. These experiences didn't make me bitter—they made me determined.

They gave me something that cannot be taught in a classroom or learned from a textbook: understanding.

I know what many people in our community are facing because I've walked through difficult seasons myself. I've sat where they sit. I've felt the pain of loss. I've seen the consequences of addiction, untreated mental illness, and generational cycles that continue to affect families throughout our county.

That's why I believe our community deserves a Sheriff who doesn't just talk about problems but truly understands them.

A Sheriff should be someone who listens. Someone who understands the struggles people face. Someone who is willing to have tough conversations and help connect people with resources before they become another statistic, another arrest, or another tragedy.

Now, let me be clear: I believe in accountability, and I will be tough on crime when necessary. Dangerous criminals, violent offenders, and those who threaten the safety of our citizens should expect strong enforcement and consequences for their actions.

But we also have to be honest with ourselves.

We cannot continue trying to arrest our way out of every problem. Decades of doing the same thing have shown us that simply reacting after a crisis occurs is not enough. We must become more proactive than reactive. We need stronger partnerships, better prevention efforts, greater community engagement, and a Sheriff's Office that works to address problems before they become emergencies.

What we've been doing isn't working well enough, and our citizens deserve better.

My experience in law enforcement has shown me the importance of public safety. My experience as a counselor has shown me the importance of intervention and recovery. My personal experiences have shown me the importance of compassion, understanding, and second chances when they are earned.

I believe those experiences give me a unique perspective that can help move our Sheriff's Office and our community forward.

Most importantly, I believe Chowan County deserves leadership that is willing to think differently, work harder, and listen more closely to the people it serves.

I love this community. I understand its challenges. I believe in its future. And if elected, I will work every day to ensure every citizen knows they have a Sheriff who hears them, respects them, and will never stop fighting for them.

Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your encouragement throughout this journey.

I hope everyone has a safe and blessed day.

As the New Year begins, I want to take a heartfelt moment to say thank you.

To every client, family, and friend who trusted me to capture your moments this past year — I am truly grateful. Each smile, milestone, and memory allowed me the honor of telling your story through my lens.

This year was filled with meaningful connections, growth, and beautiful moments that I’ll always cherish. Photography is more than images to me — it’s preserving emotion, love, and memories that last long after the moment has passed.

As we step into the New Year, I’m excited for new faces, new stories, and the opportunity to continue creating timeless images you’ll treasure for years to come.

Thank you for your support, trust, and kindness. Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. ✨📸
