I always ask couples a few questions while we’re walking between photos, and somehow those little conversations end up becoming my favorite part of the session.

Next week these two are moving into a new home. They’re spending the summer traveling to Oregon and Florida. She told me she’s somehow become a morning person since meeting him, and he’s the chef of the relationship because she’s usually getting home from work late.

It’s funny because none of those things have anything to do with taking photos… but they’re exactly the kinds of little details you’ll want to remember years from now.

That’s what I hope to give people when they book with me. Not just pretty pictures, but little snapshots of what life looked and felt like in this season. 🤍

There’s something so special about being the place your child runs to when they’re tired, overwhelmed, shy, or just needing a little comfort.

A tiny hand wrapped around your shoulder. A sleepy head tucked into your neck. The way they melt into you because to them, you are home.

Motherhood can feel loud and exhausting and overwhelming sometimes, but moments like this make me realize… we are their safe space. And somehow, they become ours too. 🤍

These quiet moments are the ones I love capturing most as a Milwaukee motherhood and family photographer. The in-between moments. The comfort. The connection. The way your babies look at you when you’re simply being their mom.

Four years, hundreds of memories, and he finally made it to graduation day 🎓

Walking around University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire with him and hearing little memories from his college years was so fun. Talking about freshman year cafeteria meals, being on the swim team, and all the moments that made Eau Claire feel like home for the last four years. You could just feel how excited he is for this next chapter of life.

That’s one of my favorite things about senior sessions. They’re not just “graduation photos.” They freeze such a huge transition season. For moms, it’s getting to look at your kid and see how much they’ve grown. And for grads, it’s celebrating everything that got them here before life changes all over again. 💛

I photograph both high school and college seniors and love creating sessions that feel relaxed, natural, and actually fun.

I was sitting on the couch with my coffee, still waking up, and she was already a full tornado in her pajamas running laps through the kitchen.

And then she stopped for just a second, looked at me, and gave me the biggest smile.

Those are the moments I want to remember. Not the perfectly planned ones, just the real, ordinary mornings that somehow end up meaning everything.

I did a little photoshoot of my daughter in her room today and it turned out so cozy and sweet.

Which is funny because I know so many moms tell me, “My house isn’t nice enough for photos.”

But years from now your kids won’t notice the decor.

They’ll see the room where they played, slept, and grew up… and the way you looked at them during this season of life.

Those are the photos that matter most 🤍
