Water is something many people never have to think twice about. But for this family in rural Cambodia, the dry season brings a daily struggle for one of life’s most basic necessities.

As the creeks dry up and water sources disappear, families are forced to travel long distances or spend precious money to buy water from elsewhere. The remaining water found by digging into the dry creek bed is often dirty, foul-smelling, and unsafe to drink, yet many have few other options.

In this short glimpse into village life, the family shares the reality of living through months of drought, where every drop of clean water becomes precious. Their story is a reminder of the challenges faced by many rural communities and the resilience they show in overcoming them each day.

Water is not just a convenience here—it’s a daily concern, a daily expense, and sometimes a daily uncertainty.
