Ok- Brewer’s win and looking forward to the World Series, cold front is here…on a weekend, freeze warning in place across many areas of SE Wisconsin…feels like the deer should be moving. A LOT. This is proving to be a great weekend in October!!

Be ready ready when you leave the truck, take our number and make sure it is saved in your phone 262-235-2890. Things happen- you don’t see the twig when you release the arrow, hit a little far back, don’t find blood, or just uncertain of the hit, if any of these happen, back out and calls us, the call is free, our conversation is free, we can discuss the next steps from there. We are here to help you find your deer!

I know many are heading to the woods this afternoon and tomorrow morning- good luck!!

This one is so fun to watch- If you have the time, (4 minutes) you will really see the excitement of these two pups (even under thermal) when they hear Mom's Voice. So glad they are home!!

Still a day and a half left of the youth season! With these warm temps- don’t wait on a questionable shot, and don’t push a track, call us your discuss options and to get eyes on without bumping them from the bed.

Some of the greatest memories we carry through life come from those early mornings in the woods during the Youth Hunt.
The cold air, the quiet walk in, the excitement on a young hunter’s face — those moments stay with you forever. They’re the kind of memories that shape hunters, families, and traditions across Wisconsin.

But sometimes, things don’t go perfectly.
A shot felt good… but the track isn’t.
Blood trail dries up.
There are questions...

When that happens, the best thing you can do is back out and call us.

Last Sunday I was invited to assist with a deer recovery alongside Leonard from Thermal Drone SAR Services, LLC. The search area was large, heavily wooded, so the two of us worked together to cover it thoroughly. We flew throughout the afternoon and located several bucks, but not the hunter’s.

The following day, the hunter texted both of us saying he had watched crows congregate all day in a cornfield—an area that had already been flown multiple times. He suspected it might be his buck. Leonard was already committed to another deer recovery, so I went to check it out.

It didn’t take long to find what the crows were focused on, and what we discovered was remarkable.

A deer was buried under knocked‑down corn stalks, with only a leg visible. Moments later, the reason became clear: two bobcats were guarding the cached kill. At first, we thought it might be the hunter’s buck. When the hunters went in to confirm, they found it was actually a fawn the bobcats had taken down. Judging by the fresh damage in the corn, the kill likely happened overnight—none of it was visible during our flights on Sunday.

What stood out even more was the bobcats’ behavior. They refused to leave the kill site, going only 25 yards, even as the hunters inspected it. The larger bobcat even followed them as they walked away. What was captured was remarkable, as bobcats are largley pretty elusive in SE Wisconsin.

I was privileged to be invited out to assist on a client’s deer recovery alongside Leonard from Thermal Drone SAR Services, LLC. While we weren’t able to locate and recover the hunter’s buck due to circumstances beyond our control, we did up finding several other deer in the area, including this beautiful albino buck.

Always grateful for the opportunity to work with other operators and support hunters however we can.
