Dominion and Authority
When Jesus Christ walked the earth with His disciples, which we who believe and confess Him as our Lord and Savior are. What the Master taught them is for us as well. All that He taught them is for all His disciples because disciples are students. That makes us who call ourselves Christians, students of the Word because as Revelation 19:13 says that His name is called the Word of God.
Acts 11:26 says that the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch. Why were they called Christians? Because they were doing what the Master said they should be doing, and doing exactly what He did in their midst.
Mark
16.15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16.16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
16.17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
16.18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
16.19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
16.20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
If they were called Christians because they followed His teachings and example, by preaching the Gospel to everyone they met, casting out devils and laying hands on the sick that they would be healed, then we who call ourselves Christians in the here and now should be doing the same. If we're not, it's because of unbelief.
As it states in verse 20 above, the Lord worked with them, confirming the word with signs following. Just as Jesus told them, the signs He said would follow those who believe in verses 17 and 18 above followed them because they believed and stepped out in what they were told and shown by their teacher. This is why they were called Christians.
If we in the here and now are not seeing these signs following us or other Christians, it's because we and they are not stepping out in faith, and in the power and authority granted unto us in Jesus name.
If we're not being taught what Jesus taught those who followed Him in the days when He walked the earth in the flesh, then we are never going to act on what we are called to do.
The example Jesus presented was a demonstration of the power and authority we ought to have over this fallen world as the children of God. He was the only begotten Son of God, and through Him, by the power of the Holy Ghost within us, we should emulate Him by doing everything He teaches His disciples.
Genesis 1.26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
In the beginning, Adam and Eve relinquished their authority over this world to the devil. By the death and resurrection of Christ, this dominion is restored to those who believe and step out in what Jesus said we should do as His disciples, in Jesus name of course. It's only by Christ in us that this dominion is restored.
John 8.31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
8.32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
As children of God, we are supposed to be as our Master, we are supposed to rise above the limitations of the natural. In the natural, nobody could do the miracles of Jesus Christ and the disciples who followed His teachings and example, prior to and following His crucifixion and resurrection.
Philippians
2.5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
2.6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
2.7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
2.8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
John 10.34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
Psalm 82.6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
As the children of God, we are servants, and a servant does what His master commands. Be not deceived, but the great commission in Mark 16: 15-16 above is a command to the church, which we are, if we follow the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.
In the words of our Lord and Savior, through the apostle Paul in Philippians above, Let this mind be in you: we are gods and equal with Christ because God said it is so. The only difference between us and Christ is that we were born with the carnal sin nature while Christ was born the seed of the Holy Ghost.
This is why we need the baptism in the Holy Ghost, to receive the power to overcome the sin nature. The baptism in the Holy Ghost makes us like Christ in that we have the fullness of the godhead bodily; the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost dwelling within us.
2 Corinthians 6.16 tells us as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. This is speaking of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.
Anyone who has been taught otherwise, and does not believe these things are for us in the here and now, have been deceived by the devil because he wants us to be weak and beggarly, not walking in the power and authority granted unto us in Jesus name! The thief cometh only but to steal, kill and destroy. He's stealing the truth from you!
If you have not received the baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, you do not have the spiritual discernment to realize that what I have said is true and righteous altogether.
Seek God, and his wisdom in this and lean not unto your own understanding, or the things others have said that are contrary to what I have said.
John 14.26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
1 John
2.26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
2.27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
