Fund raiser for MamaBaby Haiti
Sessions are $125, of which every cent will be sent to . It is my goal to donate through a company that will match our donation thus sending twice the amount I am able to earn for them. Mini sessions are around 20 minutes and include 10 digital images. These sessions can be used for a wrapped newborn session or an individual milestone session (baby sitting up on their own or first year work best.)

MamaBaby Haiti is a non-profit that is helping mothers to get the care they need before, during, and after birth. Paying for mothers in hospital prison to be released and providing newborn check-ups for baby are other ways they help. In this great time of need, I want to help this amazing organization. Please look for the fund raising event I am planning in April.

In Haiti, mothers who cannot pay their hospital bills are locked inside a medical center under armed security. They aren't released until their family can find the money, sometimes selling their furniture, their food or clothes, anything they have. They sleep on cardboard with their newborns until release... it is cold, and it is inhumane. The average cost for their release is $250-$300 USD.⁠

It's a practice we have advocated against for years.

In 2022, our team released 198 women from hospital prison, paying their bills so they could return home to their families.⁠ ⁠Many times, women come to MamaBaby directly after release to get a warm meal and checkup.

Besides the chaos that is unfolding in Haiti currently, there is also a long standing situation in health care. Hospital prison is a real practice where if you do not have the funds to pay for the birth of your child, you will stay in a cell. The hospital does not provide a bed or food like a "regular prison." Mothers and their newborns sleep on the ground and family members must bring them food until the bill can be paid.
